Birthday cards and parties are always the most popular ways for children to celebrate their birthdays, but not for Logan Brown in the US. He has serious autism. He can't talk and doesn't have any friends. According to his mother Catherine, he stopped getting birthday cards and having parties years ago. This year was Logan's 12th birthday. His mother loved him and wanted him to have a great birthday, just like other children. She asked Facebook (a website) for help, inviting friends and strangers to send her son cards for his 12th birthday. In Catherine's Facebook post, she wrote, "Will you write Happy Birthday Logan一from

your friend-in Washington，Hawaii …? Help us celebrate Logan's birthday!"

    Then the Browns were excited to receive more than 3,000 birthday cards from all over the world. When one police officer read Catherine's Facebook post, he decided to organize a surprise party for Logan at a local restaurant. On that day, many policemen took part in the party and gave the little boy a birthday cake and some other gifts. "We couldn't let Logan's birthday pass without anything special for him," said the police officer.

    With the help of his mother and the Internet, Logan had a special birthday.

My grandfather was born in 1932 and grew up in a poor village in Jinhua, China. At the age of 14, he went to  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(法国) to make a living. He was the first person in his village to go abroad. When he  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(到达) in Paris, he realised it was  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(困难的)for a foreigner to find a good job because he could speak little French. He wanted to go to a language school but he couldn't  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(买得起,付得起) it. Later, he worked in a small restaurant, cleaning up the tables, washing the dishes and sweeping the floors. Slowly, he  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(改进;改善) his French by communicating with others. He was so hard-working and active that his boss was  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(开心的;满足的) with him. So he sent my grandfather to a local school. My grandfather  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(参加) a big company at the age of 24. Life became  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(更容易的).

My grandfather kept working hard and finally made his  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(梦想) come true. Things do not come easily in life. That is what I have learnt from my grandfather. I am really  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(感到自豪的;感到骄傲的) of him. Now our family live in Paris happily.

A man was walking in a forest. He was holding an axe (斧子) in his hand. A little tree stopped him and said, "Please use your axe to 1 those tall trees, my friend. Because of them, the sunlight cannot fall on me, and I have no room at all to spread myself. Without them, I'll be the tallest tree in the forest."

In a small town，there was a young boy named Ted. He was always curious about how things worked，and loved to take things apart（把……拆开）1 back together. Usually he succeeded，but sometimes he2 . Still，he enjoyed what he did. One day，while he3 his mother cook，he realized how hard it was to stir（搅拌） the sauce. He thought that there must be 4 way to do this，and he decided to think of a better way.

Perhaps not everyone can be an inventor. However，it is always meaningful to15 what you are really interested in and keep going like Ted. 

Alan is a middle school student. His friends, Jack, Tom, and Mike, all have a 1 , but he doesn't. It makes him feel different. 

One day, he tells them, "I have a cute black dog at my home, and2 name is Stella. She likes eating 3 and playing with balls. "

After school, Alan's friends would like to go home with him and 4 the dog.

After Alan's friends hear his words, they smile and say" That's OK ". Then the15 boys play with the dog happily in the yard.
