The verb “chat” means to talk (to someone) in a friendly, informal (非正式的) way. Today there are many{#blank#}1{#/blank#} on the Internet where you can chat. You can chat with people all over the world, in many languages and about many subjects. These places are {#blank#}2{#/blank#} called “chat room”. Sometimes you need to register (注册) to enter a chat room. This means that you need to offer a usename (用户名) and possibly your e-mail {#blank#}3{#/blank#} .Your usename doesn't have to be your {#blank#}4{#/blank#} name. It can be any name you want. When you have your username, other people in the chat room will call you by that name and{#blank#}5{#/blank#} else can use it.
Chatting is a good way to {#blank#}6{#/blank#} your informal English, Messages in a chat room are usually short sentences. Sometimes{#blank#}7{#/blank#} are not even sentences, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} just a few words that are not really grammatically (语法) correct. It's a typical way in which we {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in a quick conversation with friends. To save time, people often use abbreviations (缩写形式) like TTYL (talk to you later) or IDK (I don't know). So don't go to a chat room to practice “perfect English”. Go to a chat room to practice informal English and find new {#blank#}10{#/blank#} You can even use a chat room to help improve your typing skills if you want.

Have you ever been to Thailand? And what did you learn about Thai people? After traveling {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Thailand for over a month, I've seen and learnt quite a few things not just about the country, but also about{#blank#}2{#/blank#} people. Here are some things that I've learnt about Thai people.

They always give you the warmest, friendliest smile if you smile first.

Thai people are often very {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, and many of them smile at you in the street. But most of the times, they look at you. If your {#blank#}4{#/blank#}meet and you smile, then they smile back right away. If you don't smile, however,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} do they. My experience is that they smile more brightly than you when you smile first.

No matter(无论){#blank#}6{#/blank#} early you get up in the morning, most people are already awake and working. It's true that I'm an early bird. But no matter when I get up, it feels like Thai people have been awake for just a little {#blank#}7{#/blank#}than me. They are already in their shops, at the markets or in the factories {#blank#}8{#/blank#}I get up. It's not that Thai people never sleep; they just don't sleep the way we do.

When it comes to transport, there's no such thing as “full”.

The buses are always {#blank#}9{#/blank#}in Thailand. Even if some kids have to hang (悬挂)off the end of the bus, there is still space {#blank#}10{#/blank#}more people. Once we had about 33 people in a very small bus. It was crazy!
