I was never very neat, while my roommate Mary was extremely organized. Each of her {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（object）had its place, but mine always hid somewhere. She even labeled (贴标签）everything. I always looked for everything. She would push my dirty clothing over and I would lay my books on her tidy desk. We both got tired of each other. Finally, a war broke out one evening. Mary warned me against {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (put) my shoes under her bed. Suddenly, I saw my shoes flying at me. I jumped to my feet and started yelling. She yelled back louder.

From her end of the conversation，I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. His act of kindness made me feel ashamed to have questioned his intentions. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} was really considerate of him to stop to help a perfect stranger like me, especially in such terrible weather. Thus, after the spare tire was fitted, I asked {#blank#}7{#/blank#} much I owed him. I wanted to pay him back. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (surprising), he did not take my offer but rather told me to pass the act of kindness forward and help more people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} need. As he said those words, I noticed him wearing a smile of contentment. Helping  others seemed a very {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（nature）thing to him. I witnessed the true beauty of human nature in him.

    The only survivor of a shipwreck(失事船)was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed worriedly for God to rescue(营救)him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but {#blank#}1{#/blank#}seemed forthcoming(即将来临的).     It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we{#blank#}8{#/blank#}lose heart,{#blank#}9{#/blank#}God is at work in our lives, even in the middle of pain and suffering.

    Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground it just may be {#blank#}10{#/blank#}smoke signal from the grace(恩泽)of God. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves. God has a positive answer for them.
