    In the village that I grew up , everyone knew an old man, who lived a simply life and spent all his time painting. The villagers used to admiring his works and he often gave his paintings to his friends. Whenever he was offered money, he would not take them. He said he painted for a pleasure. He once gave one of his painting to my father, who actually wasn't interested in art. Years later I found it in our old house. By that time the old man has died and people started to recognize his paintings as great works of art, which was worth lots of money. An art gallery made me an offer of $5,000 for this painting and I nearly sold it, so then I decided not to. It always reminds me my childhood and of the old man who didn't really want to make money by painting.

    I didn't realize the importance of working in groups since I was chosen monitor of my class in high school. At first, I did most of duties myself while other students cared few about class activities. As a result, I was tired out and depressing. Then I turned to my teacher and he gave me some advice of how to cooperate well with other. Thus I begin to realize the strengths of my classmates and have everyone to do his part in class.

    From my experience, I strong feel that it is working in teams instead of on my own that has freed me from trouble and make me work more efficiently. Therefore, we need the teamwork spirit in our lives.

    I will share one experience with you. With the College Entrance Examination draw near, I was filled with great anxiety. However, I couldn't be absorbed in study, resulting from my failing in the examination. I got very discouraging. Just then, my teacher, Miss Zhang, approach me and said, “In life we all have moment when we can't achieve what we want it. It is natural. Don't allow those moments to weaken you, and turn them into motivation to inspire you.” Her words were a reminder which provided myself with constant encouragement to smile at life. Consequently, I gained what I deserved.

    So it is an optimistic attitude which matters most of all. It gives you the confidence to deal with difficulties and to achieve what you want in your life.

    Studying in the UK have been a good experience for me. When I first arrived, I find life very hard as I didn't know anybody here, but I soon got to know other Chinese student at the university. Later I became interesting in communicating with people from various cultures, and I made fewer friends.

    During my study, I chose to live in with my classmates in the dormitory. I think it's better than living in British family because I can meet people from different countries easy. The courses here are excellent. I enjoy the way the teachers give lessons. We are encouraged to think for yourselves, which is quite different from that I have experienced before.

    Mrs Brown was walking near a playground. She was a hurry to visit her four grandchildren. She missed him very much, because she had seen them for quite a long time.     Basketball is popular with young students at school. These days we are exciting about the basketball matches between the classes in our grade. We have chosen our players careful and practiced a lot after school every day. We had also organized a cheer team, who have prepared dances and slogans to cheering us up. In short, we have done much things for the matches. Though we don't have good player and we are not quite skillful, we all believe that we can cooperate well but win. Whatever the result it is, the most important thing are that we are working hard and enjoying ourselves. We are looking forward to coming matches.
