Lord Pingyuan was from the State of Zhao（赵国）. At that time, Zhao was{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（weak）than Qin, so Qin wanted to control Zhao. Lord Pingyuan decided to ask the State of Chu {#blank#}2{#/blank#} some help. He wanted to pick twenty talented people to go with him. But he could only find nineteen people. Where is the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（twenty）person? Soon, a man called Mao Sui said in {#blank#}4{#/blank#} confident voice, "Please believe in me." Finally, Lord Pingyuan let Mao Sui join {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（they）.

Lord Pingyuan led these twenty {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（man）to the State of Chu. However, the king didn't want to help Zhao. Mao Sui acted so {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（brave）that he walked to the king with a sword（剑）in his hand. The king was shocked and had to listen to Mao Sui. Mao Sui explained {#blank#}8{#/blank#} important the friendship between Chu and Zhao was. The king agreed to help Zhao. Then Mao Sui {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（become）a hero of the state.

What can we learn from the story? It {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（remind）us that we should always believe in ourselves like Mao Sui. Don't be shy to hide your talents. Show yourselves to others.

When I was in primary school, I often thought about what my junior high school life would be {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. I am a junior high school student now. I find something different. In most junior high schools, the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(one) day is usually on 1st September. Class often {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(start) at 7:45 in the morning. 

I go to school from Mondays to Fridays {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I have seven lessons every day. English is my favourite. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(learn) English well is important for me, because I want to be {#blank#}6{#/blank#} English teacher in the future. I started {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(work) hard from the first English lesson. In that lesson, our English teacher Ms Chen wrote some {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sentence) on the blackboard. Then she asked {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(we) to answer questions. I was the first to put up my hand, but my answer was not right. I felt sad. But Ms Chen said it was OK {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(make) mistakes sometimes. She taught me to learn from them, and then I could do better next time. 

 Have you heard of"choubaguai"? Do you know its meaning? Do you think it is a kind of fruit or it refers to(指) ugly people?

{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(在……期间) the Qing Dynasty(1644—1911), Yangzhou was a center for business and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(文化). Many artists lived there. Among these artists was a special group of eight painters. They were all from poor families but they were truly {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(有才能的). They had their {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(自己的) styles(风格) and their paintings were mirrors of {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(普通的) lives. Their paintings touched many people's{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (内心). They became quite famous and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(百) of rich traders went to buy their paintings. So the other painters disliked them and called them"Yangzhou baguai". Some {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(甚至) called them"choubaguai". Although it wasn't a nice name, people {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(相信) their paintings were great.

 Today, "Yangzhou baguai" is still used to refer to the eight painters, but"Choubaguai" now {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (失去) its original meaning and just refers to ugly people in general.
