    Those are my grandparents. These are my parents. My mother is Susan. She likes red. She likes apples for breakfast. And she often plays ping-pong. That is my brother. His name is Jack. He doesn't like red. He just likes white. He often has milk for breakfast and then plays soccer. Now this is me. My name is Tony. I like blue very much. My sweaters, my T-shirts, my pants, my shoes are all blue. For my breakfast, I like eggs. I don't like soccer. It's so boring. I just like tennis. It's so fun. This is my family. I love my family.

    Your schooldays should be some of the best and happiest days of your life. How can you get the most from them, and be sure you do not waste (浪费) this great chance to learn?

    Be active (积极的) at school. Don't say things are difficult or boring. Take an interest in your school life and school subjects. Take part in lots of activities (活 动). Put up your hands quickly in class. Go around the school with a big smile. If you are not working, you are wasting your time at school. Teachers can not make everything enjoyable (令人愉快的).

    Keep fit. If you don't eat a good breakfast, you will be thinking about food in class.

    If you go to bed late and don't have enough sleep, you will be sleepy in class. Play enough sports every day in order to keep your body strong.

    Face the problem. Do not say you will do things tomorrow. If you get behind the class, it is very difficult to get back in front. You cannot finish the race if you rest all the time. Everyone fails (失败) some exams, loses some matches and has a bad day. Don't make small problems very big and important. Don't forget to ask for help if you cannot solve the problems. You are young, and no one thinks you must do everything quite well!

    Spend the weekends. Don't waste time lying in bed on Saturday or Sunday morning. Go and play sports, get together with friends in the park to relax, learn to play the piano, or help someone with problems. If you don't want to go out, there are also a lot of things to do. You may read a book, practice English or help your mum with housework.

    Jim is a nice boy. He is 1.7 metres tall. He is from England. Now he lives in China with his mom and dad. One day，he feels sick. He has a headache. He doesn't want to eat anything. So his father takes him to ________ a doctor by car. The doctor says Jim has a cold. He asks Jim to take some medicine and have a good rest at home.

    Most of us have never thought about building an educational toy by ourselves. If we need a learning toy or something, we simply go to the nearest store and buy it. However, things are not as easy in third world countries. With families even having no food to put on the table, buying toys, especially the educational ones, is the last thing on the parents' minds.

    So how can one get these kids interested in science？This was a question that worried the Indian engineer Arvind Gupta so much that he decided to give up a good job and spend his life making toys from trash, things that people no longer want or need!

    Mr Gupta began teaching in the 1970s. While still an engineering student at the Indian College of Technology, he volunteered to teach the children who could not afford to go to school. Upon graduation, he found a good job at India's Tata Motors and spent the next five years designing cars.

    But he soon realized that this was not something he wanted to do for the rest of his life. So he took a year's training course and took part in the Hoshangabad Science Teaching Program whose aim was to make science fun and exciting for poor children using available materials.

    Mr Gupta found the whole project so satisfying that he decided to leave his high-paying job and focus his attention on designing educational toys that were not only cheap and easy to build, but also full of scientific principles(原理) , so that children could get interested in this interesting subject.

    When the Internet started becoming a more widespread learning tool, Mr Gupta created a toys from Trash website and also recorded over 250 You Tube videos.

    Today, over 50, 000 children and teachers visit the website daily to download the videos for the toy creations based on cool science, Some young children have become so inspired(鼓舞) that they have even won international science competitions with the help of his creations
