    Nature's warnings

When the sky suddenly turns dark and the wind is strong, watch out! A dangerous storm might be coming. Storms are scary. Watch for flashes of lightning. Listen for thunder. If nature sends these warnings, don't wait for rain. Act right away to keep safe.

    Safety steps

At the first flash of lightning, quickly get inside a building or a car. Do not go into a shed (棚) for protection. It is not closed like a building, so it is not safe.

Even after you get inside, be careful. It is not smart to go near doors and windows. A room with no windows is the safest place to be.

Do not wash your hands during a storm. Do not use anything that runs on electricity either. Water and electrical lines are like roads for lightning. Even if you really want to play computer games, don't! It is better to be bored than to risk getting hurt. Try reading a book instead. Reading is more interesting than playing computer games.

If you can't go somewhere safe, stay out in the open. You may feel safe under a tree, but that is not a good place to be. Lightning is pulling toward tall poles and trees. Stay down in an open space and cover your ears to protect them. Loud thunder can damage your hearing.

    Lightning strikes

Lightning does not strike people very often. It is not likely that you will ever see that happen. If you do, call 120. Only trained emergency workers should care for a person who has been hit by lightning.

If you follow these rules, you can stay safe during a storm.

Nature was Chen Rui's "childhood home". The 37-year-old researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Zoology was not able to talk until he was 4 years old because of the way his brain processes sensory (感官) information.

This made him "strange" in some people's minds. So, he didn't have friends who were around his age, which led him to turn his attention to nonhuman things around him. He became enraptured by the world of insects. "The happiest time of my childhood was in the farm fields," says Chen. "I squatted there, observing the actions of insects. I had so many questions about their activities and was full of curiosity about this world." These experiences planted a seed in his heart.

Many years later, he's an expert in life-science research. He has visited the Amazon rainforest several times, and has found around 100 new species (物种), many of which are named after him.

"I was a child who was ‘cured (治愈)' by nature," he says. "I wanted to grow up to share the power of nature with more young people and to popularize understanding of animals, including insects. I wanted to start classes to bring children to learn in the open air and experience the gifts nature gives." These led him to recently publish the popular science book, Du Chong Ji (Reading About Insects)

"Insects were the earliest creatures that could fly and feed themselves by farming. They have survived three mass extinctions (大规模灭绝). No other living things have won such victories." He hopes that people will learn and draw inspiration from the "superpowers" of insects and use it to improve their own lives.

Do you often travel to many places recommended (推荐) on social media without wanting to visit them but arrive at a place and take photos to post them? Then, this turns into online likes, improving the attention. economy (经济). Scientists show the rise of this economy is due to that we may spend hours a day on. our phones and read pop-up content (内容) instead of actively looking for certain content. Platforms (平台) send ads for catching our eyes. But please remember things happening in unknown, corners are fun, but they shouldn't be more important than the present moment.

Sitting properly at Your Desk

Do you really know how to sit at the table correctly? Poor position can lead to back pain. neck pain, and so on. Our shoulders play a key role in keeping a good position. Normally, all of our weight falls forward, putting pressure on our spine (脊椎). Our back muscles (肌肉) must work hard to keep us upright. That's why. we need to pull our shoulders back. So the weight of our arms is behind the spine, the muscles in the back and neck don't have to work as hard. If your arms are not supported (支撑), they will pull your neck and shoulders. Scientists suggest your chair should have armrests to support your elbows.

Using Sunscrcen Correctly

Many people wear sunscreen in the summer. This protects our skin from sunburn and guards against UV light (紫外线) at once after, you apply (涂) it. However, it takes about 10 minutes for the protection to become stable (稳定) Experts think you should put on sunscreen 20 to 30 minutes before going outdoors. In addition, don't mix two brands of sunscreen. They may not work well together. And it may be wise to reapply it when it's needed. You can do it after sweating or swimming in water.

 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。

After four months of digging, the Ningbo Cultural Heritage Research Institute shared what they found at the Malangxia site (马廊厦遗址) on August 29. The exciting discovery in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province, China, has helped us leam more about how people lived and how society changed over a very long time.

The site is 2,000 m² big, and 102 things were found like ash pits(坑), houses, tombs(坟墓), and roads. They were made in the middle and lower parts of the Changjiang River area. Imagine digging up layers(层) of history like layers of cake! The Malangxia Site has five different layers, and each one is like a different chapter in a book, telling us about a different time period.

The first layer is from the Shang-Zhou dynasties, and we found a special tomb. As we move up to the next layer. Here, we found lots of cool things like houses, pits, tombs, and roads. They are like photos that record the life at that time. The third isn't as full as the others. We only found one tomb. But the fourth layer has a lot of findings, with pits, tombs and holes. These things show us how art styles from the north and south of China mixed together.

Local experts say that the Malangxia Site is the biggest and best-kept archaeological (考古的) site in Yuyao so far. It's like a treasure box full of history that helps us understand how society changed over thousands of years. It's amazing to think that just by digging, we can learn so much about people who lived long ago!
