I am having a good time visiting my aunt in Thailand now. She is working here. It's really a beautiful place. You can do a lot here. I like outdoor activities like {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, biking and diving (潜水). All of these are wonderful. I visit many temples (寺庙) and learn about their history. I also learn a lot about elephants here. The elephant is one of Thailand's {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. The first flag of Thailand had a white elephant on it. Elephants can play soccer or music. They can walk for a long time and never get {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. They can also remember places {#blank#}4{#/blank#} food and water. It's really cool, isn't it? I also miss my parents very much. I like Thailand and my vacation here, but there is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} "no place like home".

What will the schools be; like in-the future? Smart schools will be the schools of the next generation. These future schools will use high technology to help students-learn more quickly, as well as bring convenience to teachers.

A university in Canada has built the first 5G smart-campus（校园）in the country. A high-tech company helped to build a 5G network across the schoolyard. This made it easy for everyone to use the smart system.

In the UK, Stanffordshire University made an AI robot called Beacon. It. is like a personal helper for students and it's very popular at school. The-students can ask it questions and it can answer as a real teacher.

The smart system can be a big help in the classroom. It can change the brightness according to the environment. When it's bright enough, the smart system will turn the lights down a bit. When it's dark inside, it will turn the lights up. In this way, the students can learn in a better condition.

Experts believe that more and more schools will welcome the smart system to better facilitate the school and serve the teachers as well as students. So, is your school also a smart one?

There were many famous inventors and scientists in history. You must have heard about a lot of them and known them well. But you may not know Nikola Tesla. 

Nikola Tesla and his inventions were well- known to people in the area of science and electricity, but not quite known to the general public today. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian- born inventor, who later moved to the US. He was most well- known for his inventions in the area of electricity and electrical engineering. He was considered one of the greatest electrical engineers in history. 

Why was Nikola Tesla not well- known while others in his time became so famous to the public? Some said Nikola Tesla failed to make the right business decisions. Others said it was because of his "mad scientist" qualities (特质) — the same qualities that helped him come up with some of his best ideas. His qualities led him to many strange ideas. Towards his last years, he came up with many ideas that seemed unacceptable to the public at that time. He worked very hard on them, which made people think he was mad. 

Many of Tesla's inventions and patents (专利) didn't end up being used in the exact way he had planned for them. Some of those include his high- frequency lighting ideas, wireless power and the free energy receiver.

Are there any lakes in your hometown? What color are they? Around one-third of the world's lakes are blue, according to a study in September 2022. But global warming may lead them to turn green or even brown, and countries with most lakes may be affected the most. If the temperature continues to rise, one in every ten lakes might change color.

Xiao Yang from Southern Methodist University in the US and his team analyzed (分析) the color of over 85,000 lakes based on the satellite photos taken from 2013 to 2020. The study has found that lakes in places with cooler summer average air temperatures-below 19℃-were more likely to be blue than lakes in places with warmer summers.

According to the research, the color of a lake is partly decides by what's in the water. Water molecules absorb the long wavelengths of sunlight, such as red and yellow, leaving behind the shorter ones presenting green and blue. Simply put, the cleaner the water, the bluer it looks.

Lakes serve as an important part of our environment, with their color being one of the oldest ways to determine the health of an ecosystem. Humans get their drinking water from lakes, streams and ground water. As they become greener, people may lose lots of clean water. Because of this, dealing with the water of such lakes becomes more expensive.

At the same time, blue lakes are also  a source of a place to help people stay peaceful. Some countries according to Catherine O' Reilly, even considered blue lakes as a spiritual(精神的) place. As these lakes disappear, they may feel upset.
