Tu Youyou is a Chinese pharmaceutical chemist(药学家) and educator. She is best known for discovering artemisinin(青蒿素) which {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(use) to treat malaria(疟疾) and has saved {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(million) of lives. She won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in October 2015. She is the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(one) Chinese woman to win this prize.

    Tu was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China {#blank#}4{#/blank#} December 30^th, 1930. From 1951 to 1955, she attended Peking University Medical School. Later, Tu was trained for two and a half {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(year) in traditional Chinese medicine. Now she is the Chief Scientist in the Academy(研究院) of Chinese Medicine in Beijing.

    Tu has some health problems as a result of working poor conditions for {#blank#}6{#/blank#}long time. But she is still doing research. When Tu finally received Nobel Prize for her achievements, she said the success {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(belong) to her team, which did research in those poor conditions. And she thinks artemisinin is a gift from China and from {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(tradition) Chinese medicine to the world, to the millions and millions of people,{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (especial) poor children, all over the world who have malaria.

    Tu Youyou is already 87 years old,{#blank#}10{#/blank#}she says she won't stop studying or working.

   The grandmilitary parade (盛大阅兵式) and celebrationswere held in Tian'anmen Square, Beijing on Oct. 1 for the 70th anniversary of thefounding of the People's Republic of China.

   A grandmilitary parade was held in the morning, showing the great progress made by theChinese armed forces in recent years. About 15,000 officers and soldiers took partin the 80-minute parade in front of Tian'anmen Square. Then, a mass pageant(群众游行展) showing China's historical achievements andthe nation's great rejuvenation(伟大复兴)was held. It was seenas a lesson on Chinese history and how far the nation has progressed. The mass pageantlasted 65 minutes and was divided into five parts, each part showed respect to Chineseleaders in the past and leaders now, from Mao Zedong to Xi Jinping. In the evening,a gala(盛会)took place in Tian'anmen Square. The songs, dancesand fireworks celebrated the nation and its people.

    President Xi expressed warm National Day congratulations toChinese people home and abroad. Standing on the Tian'anmen Rostrum in Beijing, whereChairman Mao Zedong announced the founding of the PRC on Oct 1, 1949, Xi recalledChinese history. He also showed a road map for the country to realize the Chinesedream of national rejuvenation. He called for efforts to make a better life andto keep making achievements. The parade and celebrations have set off Chinese people'spatriotism (爱国心)and a strongsense of pride.

 It's Sunday today. Jack and his parents are free. So They go to the park(公园) for a picnic. They go there by car. Jack's father drives the car. They take some favorite food with them, such as chicken, hamburgers and cakes. They also take some orange juice and water. Jack's mom takes some apples and bananas, too. She says they are good for them.

 After lunch, they fly the kites. Jack has two kites and he likes flying kites very much. It's windy today. Jack's father helps him with the kites. The family are happy. Then they go to the zoo. They see many animals at the zoo. They are cute.
