There are two thousand and two {#blank#}1{#/blank#} students at Yuying Middle School. Every day they go to school in different ways. Some students {#blank#}2{#/blank#} far from the school. Every morning they need to get up {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, or they will be late. It takes them about {#blank#}4{#/blank#} hour to get to school. Some students live near the school. They often walk to school. They think walking is good {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their health. About one hundred students ride their {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to school because they like {#blank#}7{#/blank#} bikes very much and their homes are not very far from the school. No students goes to school {#blank#}8{#/blank#} car. How about the teachers? Well, some teachers always {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to school because they live about ten kilometers from school. Some teachers live near the school, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} they just get to school on foot.

Eating habits are different in different {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (country). The Chinese have a saying "Eat good things for breakfast, eat a big meal for lunch, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} eat less at dinner." Many Americans agree that a man should start the day with {#blank#}3{#/blank#} good breakfast, but their ideas about lunch and dinner are quite different. 

How to eat for lunch and dinner is quite different in the two countries. Most Americans only have a short time to eat for lunch. So they eat a small lunch. After work they will have more time {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (eat) a big dinner. Also, a big dinner at home with all the family talking about their days is a way {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (take) a good rest after a long, hard day of work. 

Eating at restaurants is quite different. In China, people like talking and laughing while eating. Very often you can hear people {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (talk) and laughing loudly and they are just having a good time. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, in America it is not {#blank#}8{#/blank#} this. They want a quiet place where they can eat a good meal far away from the noises of the outside world. If someone is talking too {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (loud), the manager of the restaurant may come and ask them {#blank#}10{#/blank#} be quiet.

The world's attention turns to Sweden for the announcement (公布) of the Nobel Prize winners 1 December 10 each year. The Nobel Prizes, six prizes given to groups or individuals who are really excellent in 2 fields, were founded by a Swedish inventor, Alfred Nobel. 

 Alfred Nobel was the man who invented dynamite, a 3 explosive(炸药). During his life, Nobel made a lot of money from his invention, and he decided 4 he would use his money to help scientists, artists, and people who worked to help 5 around the world. 6 he died, he decided to place the money in a bank and the interest(利息) would be given out as five cash prizes every year. 

 The prizes 7 were set up by Nobel were first handed out in 1901, including physics, medicine, chemistry, literature, and peace. Later, in 1968 the Bank of Sweden 8 a prize in economics to celebrate the bank's 300th year of business. 

 The person who receives a Nobel Prize 9 a cash prize, a medal, and a certificate. The money for each category is worth about 1. 5 10 dollars. The aim of the prize is 11 the winner to carry on working or researching, and they don't have to worry about 12 money. 

 The prizes can be given to either individuals 13 groups, like Albert Einstein, Tu Youyou and the United Nations. The prize winner who has won the 14 times is the International

Committee of the Red Cross. This organization has received three Nobel Peace Prizes, and the founder, Jean Henri Dunant, was awarded 15 first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901.

 Students have school work, tests, and problems with friends every day. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Going to the stores to look at nice things is a good idea. They don't have to buy anything— just looking at things can be enjoyable.

 When students go shopping, they have to think about what they really need and how much they can spend. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} This is important for their future.

 Lots of people enjoy going shopping with friends because they can talk and have fun at the same time. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

 Of course, some people shop too much and spend too much money. This can cause problems. But if they shop carefully and don't spend too much, shopping is a great way to relax and have a good time.

 Shopping is a good thing for students. Just remember, be smart with spending. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Wildwood School Library Guide This will offer you some information about our school library. You can use this guide to help your kids use our library.

Service Hours  3:00 p.m.—5:30 p.m. on school days; 8:30 a.m.—11:00 a.m. on weekends. On school days, your kids may borrow or return books during opening hours only when his classroom teacher allows him to. On weekends, our library is open to both you and your kids.

Borrowing  Each student can borrow one or two books at a time. More books can be borrowed only for class reading activities and school research.

Returning  Books borrowed from the library can be kept for 15 school days. 

The books must be returned before the due date（到期日） or the kid can not borrow other books.

Damaged（受损的） or Lost Books  When a book is returned in a damaged condition, the kid will have to pay three dollars for the damage. Full price must be paid if a book is lost. We encourage students to carry their library books in plastic bags to protect them from rainy weather.
