It is more than sixty years since the death of Lei Feng, and yet his spirit still influences Chinese young people. In fact, the wish to help others can always be found among common people. 

On September 5, 2022, when an earthquake hit Luding, Sichuan, a 28-ycar-old hydropower station (水电站) worker Gan Yu chose not to leave but stay at his workplace. saving villages from being damaged. People think he is a hero like Lei Feng. but he doesn't feel that he should be compared to the young hero. "Lei Feng is a role model to all Chinese young people. The things he did may seem small. but behind them was a great quality that we can all achieve." he said. 

Zeng Qiangfei, 24, is also from Sichuan. In 2013, when an earthquake happened in his hometown, he was studying in a middle school. Zeng remembered seeing rescuers (救援者) and volunteers gather there to help. When he grew up, he became a volunteer himself. After a terrible quake hit Turkey and Syria this year, he flew there to help. During the course, he always saw local people bowing quietly to volunteers like them. "I grew up listening to Lei Feng's stories. He is an excellent young man who tried his best to help others." said Zeng. 

This view is shared by a 56-year-old British man named James Elroy Edginton, who lives in Hunan. the hometown of Lei Feng. Working at a local college. Edginton volunteers to help students from poor families. and is warmly regarded as a "foreign Lei Feng". "I am glad to be connected with the spirit of Lei Feng. His qualities are borderless (无国界的) ." he said. 

When I was in high school, I was in the FIRST Robotics Club. It had {#blank#}1{#/blank#} activities to help students learn about engineering(工程学).

I didn't know what engineering was about,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} I joined the club. My friend Mark {#blank#}3{#/blank#} me to join it, and there I began to learn a lot {#blank#}4{#/blank#} engineering. It is a different way of thinking. It lets students think about how {#blank#}5{#/blank#}a dream come true.

There were about thirty {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in the club and we were in six groups. Once the teacher asked us to make {#blank#}7{#/blank#} own(自己的) robots in a month. At first I thought it was impossible, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} we made it finally and then we took part in the competitions(竞赛). My group won the first prize. It was so {#blank#}9{#/blank#}!

I'm a college student now and I am in some clubs, but I really {#blank#}10{#/blank#} my FIRST Robotics: I think it is the best {#blank#}11{#/blank#}.

Linda is our new classmate. She is a left-behind(留守的) child. Her parents 1 in another city. She lives 2 her grandparents.

It's November 8th and it is Linda's thirteenth 3 . My classmates and I want to have a 4 for her. In the morning, we decorate(装饰) the 5 with some beautiful paper and balloons(气球). Judy and I buy a 6 birthday cake for her, so everyone can have a taste(品尝). On the cake, there 7 a red flower. The party begins 8 9:30. Tony lights the candles, and then we 9 the song Happy Birthday to You to her. Linda is very happy.

After 10 the cake, we dance and play games in the classroom. All of us have a good time.

Grade 7 students from Guangming Middle School had a class outside the classroom. They had a 1 farming class in the fields(田地). Everybody loved it!

Farmers introduced wheat ( 小 麦 ) to the students and answered 2 questions. The farmers also 3 them around the fields. They le arnt that 4 usually harvest(收获) wheat in September.

"I 5 some notes in my notebook." said Daming. He learnt that eating wheat can be good for people.

Other students also learnt something new."I know about wheat only from 6 . This time, I see real one and learn how it 7 ." said Dongdong.

 Before this, Lingling thought that farming was something old.8 this trip changed(改变) her ideas."I see really cool farming machines(机器), and they show me how farming changes and gets 9 ." said Lingling." Farming changes10 . I'm so excited to see it in this lesson!"

A father and his son went to a kite festival. When they 1 , there were many parents   and their children playing in the park 2 . The son was happy when he saw the sky fill with colorful kites. He wanted to fly a kite , too. So they went to a kite shop and 3 beautiful one. 

 The father was good4 flying kites. Soon the kite was high up in the sky. After a while the son said, "Dad, it 5 that the string (线) is stopping the kite from flying higher.6 we cut it, the kite will be free and fly even higher. Can we cut it? "The father said 7 but just cut the string off. The kite really went higher. This made the little boy8

 But then, after a few minutes, the kite started to 9 slowly. It soon fell onto the ground in the end . The son was 10 to see this. He asked his father, "I thought that after cutting the string, the kite would fly higher. Why did it fall down?

 The father smiled and said, "The role of the string was not stopping the kite from going higher, but was 11 stay in the sky, because the kite 12 can't fly up. You helped the kite go up in the right 13 by using the string. But when you cut the string, it could no longer support the kite. "

 In our life, we may sometimes feel like there are certain things that are holding us back and stopping us from growing.14 in fact, these might be the things that support us the most. We can really15 and become better by knowing the importance of these things. 

Jenny used to get angry in the face of problems and didn't know what to do. One day, she asked her father for 1 . Her father took her to the 2 and got three bowls. Then he poured water into each bowl and put them on the stove (炉子). When the water started to boil (沸腾), he put a 3 in the first bowl, an egg in the second and two spoons of tea leaves in the third.

When the time was up, Jenny's father put the potato and the egg on a plate and poured the tea into a cup. He asked Jenny, "Have you learned anything from them?"
