If you have a chance to go to Finland(芬 兰 ), you will probably be surprised to find how "foolish" the people of Finland are. Take the taxi drivers for example. Taxis in Finland are mostly high-class Benz(一流的奔驰) with a fare(车费) of two US dollars a kilometer. You can say that you have some business to do, and then walk off without paying your fare. The driver will not be worried.

The dining rooms in all big hotels not only serve their guests, but also serve outside eaters. Outside eaters should pay for the meals. However, hotel guests have their meals free, so they naturally go to the free dining room to have their meals. The only thing they need to do is to show their cards to the waiter.

You can easily use any old room card to take a couple of friends to eat dinner without paying.

The workers of Finland are paid by the hour. But to my surprise, the workers only need to say how many hours they have worked and they will be paid by their boss.

With so many loopholes in everyday life, surely Finland must be a good place to those who love to take “small advantages”. But the strange things are: all the taxi passengers will always come back to pay their fare after they have dealt with their business; not a single outsider has ever been found in the free hotel dining rooms; and workers always give an honest answer of the exact hours they put in. As the people of Finland always act on good trust in everything they do, living in such a society has turned everyone into a real "gentleman".

(1)、Why don't the taxi drivers get worried when passengers just walk off without paying the fare?
A、Because traveling by taxis are free in Finland. B、Because taxi drivers like businessmen very much. C、Because taxi drivers and passengers are friends. D、Because taxi drivers know passengers will pay the fare later.
(2)、Which statement is TRUE about big hotels in Finland?
A、Guests without any room cards can take friends to have free meals there. B、Guests need to show their cards to the waiter to receive free meals. C、Both guests and outsiders can have meals for free. D、Although the meals are free, guests usually eat outside the hotel.
(3)、How are workers paid in Finland?
A、The boss pays workers according to how many days they've worked. B、The boss pays workers according to the number of hours the workers tell him. C、The boss pays workers according to his memory about how many hours they've worked. D、The boss asks someone to count their working hours and pays workers by the hour.
(4)、Which one below can explain the underlined word "loop holes" in the passage?
A、换气孔 B、枪眼 C、漏洞 D、射弹孔
(5)、What's the main idea of the passage?
A、The people of Finland are foolish in daily life. B、There are many funny stories in Finland. C、Foreigners need to act like gentlemen in Finland. D、The people of Finland always act on good trust in everything they do.

Jim got up and got dressed. Then, he looked at his toothbrush and he said, "In 2024, I will brush my teeth after every meal." Haha, the toothbrush fell over! Jim went downstairs and he looked at his mother and he said, "In 2024, I will always be nice to you." and his mother smiled.

When Jim arrived at school, he didn't finish his homework and had no homework to hand in. He said to his teacher, Mr. Smith, "Sir, in 2024, I will always do my homework." Mr. Smith tutted (发出啧啧声) at Jim.

At lunchtime, Jim went to the canteen and he ate a burger and fries. He said to his friend, "In 2024, I will stop eating fast food and I will eat healthy food like chicken, fish and salad." Jim's friend just smiled.

When Jim arrived home after school, he ate his dinner and then he turned on his computer and he started playing computer games. He played for three hours and he said to himself, "In 2024, I will not play computer games all the time. I will play for only one hour a day." He looked in the mirror and he smiled to himself. You see, Jim made these resolutions last year, but he didn't keep any of them!

But this time, Jim really took these promises seriously! He thinks he can do it. Let's hope so!
