Hello! I am Tom. I like animals. I have a cat. It's brown. I have a rabbit (兔子). It is white. I have a yellow duck. It is small. I have a pink (粉色的) pig. It is fat. Look at the panda. It has two black eyes. And it is so lovely (可爱的).

    Miss Green is very fat and she is very heavy. So she goes to see her doctor. The doctor says, “There isn't anything wrong with you, but you eat too much. I think you must go on a diet. Here's a book for you to read. You must eat the things on page 15. Read it carefully and eat the things for ten days, and then come to me again.”

    Miss Green takes the book home and reads it carefully, and begins her diet.

    Ten days is over now. Miss Green comes to see her doctor again. The doctor finds she is still very fat. So he says, “Do you eat the things on page 15 of that small book now?” “Yes, I do.” Miss Green says. The doctors cannot say anything.

    This is a nice new building in Shanghai. It is very tall. It has twenty stories. There are about eighty families in the building. That is to say, about two hundred and fifty people live in this building! I live here, too. My home is on the fifteenth floor. We have two bedrooms and a sitting room. They are bright and dean. There are a lot of big trees and beautiful flowers around our new building. I like to look out of the window in my room. I can see cars and buses running in the street. I can see people walking in the street, too. They look so small! I can also see a lot of tall buildings. How beautiful Shanghai is! I am happy to live in one of the nice new tall buildings.

    It's warm today. We're in the park. It's a beautiful park. We can see trees. We can see some birds in the trees. They're singing. Look! Mary is reading. Tom is eating. Peter is playing football. Jim is painting. We're happy in the park.
