And kite festivals are held each year in many parts of the country. Kites have been used for science purposes in the western world. The United States Weather Bureau has used box kites to collect weather data for 35 years. How amazing the kites are! Weifang in Shangdong Province is famous for its kites. Weifang International Kite Festival, one of the most famous kite festivals, is held here in April every year.
