The students were having their chemistry (化学)class. Miss Li was telling the children what water is like. After that, she asked her students, “What's water?” No one spoke for a few minutes. Miss Li asked again,“Why don't you answer my question? Didn't I tell you what water is like? ”

    Just then a boy put up his hand and said, “Miss Li, you told us that water has no colour and no smell. But where to find such kind of water? The water in the river behind my house is always black and it has abad smell.” Most of the children agreed with him.

“I'm sorry, children,” said the teacher, “our water is getting dirtier. That's a problem.”

    It is Saturday afternoon. The students are in the playground. They are talking about their weekends.

    Li Mei usually has a busy weekend! On Saturday, she often goes to the park by bus. She likes running there. She often climbs on Saturday. On Sunday, sometimes she does housework after lunch. She can clean the rooms and wash the clothes. Then, in the evening, she often watches cartoons.

    Liu Tao usually plays football with his friends at weekends. He sometimes goes to the park with his family. They usually fly a kite and have a picnic there.

    Tomorrow is the Dragon Boat Festival. In the morning, I will visit my grandparents with my father and mother. My grandma will make zongzi for us. I like sweet zongzi with Chinese dates (枣). My parents like salty (咸的) zongzi with meat. My grandpa will cook a big lunch for us. In the afternoon, I will watch the dragon boat races with my friends. What a nice day!

Students: Wow! It's very big.

    Many schools have their clubs. Sport Club is cool. You can run, play basketball, do kung fu, swim and so on(等等). Art Club is colourful. You can draw cartoons in it. And you will meet Winnie. Micky or Snow White... We have a lot of fun in Music Club. We can sing songs, dance, play the piano, play the pipa. Do you like English Club? It's happy in English Club. We can speak English, sing English songs, make an English card...
