Four Seasons

    Spring is the best season of the year. It lasts from March to May. The days get longer. The nights get shorter, and the weather gets warmer. Everything begins to grow. Grass and trees begin to turn green. Flowers begin to come out. Children begin to flykites outdoors.

    Summer comes after spring.  It is the hottest season in theyear. It lasts from June to August. People try to find a cool place then. They always go swimming in pools, lakes, and rivers.

    Autumn is the harvest season. It gets cool. Farmers begin to reap (收割).They are busy from September to November.

    The coldest season ofthe year is winter. It's from December to February. The days are short and thenights are long. It snows sometimes and that makes the children happy. They make a snowman and dance around it. They go ice-skating as well.

     Sally is learning how to make an omelette(鸡蛋饼)．First，beat two eggs in a bowl．Next，cut some ham(火腿)into small pieces and put the ham into the bowl．After that，add some salt and pepper and stir(搅拌)．Then pour the mix into a frying pan(煎锅)．Finally,fry for five minutes．

    My name is Bob.Tomorrow is Saturday.We have no classes.My parents aren't going to work，but we are going to be very busy tomorrow.My mother is going to buy something.My father is going to visit my aunt and uncle.I'm going to the bookstore by bus.Then I'm going to buy a dictionary.Tomorrow evening we are going to visit my grandparents and have a big dinner.After that we are going to the cinema.

    One day, Mark Twain went to a small town to give a lecture (讲座). At lunch he met a young man. The young man told him that he had an uncle. His uncle never laughed or smiled. Nobody and nothing could make his uncle smile or laugh. "You bring your uncle to my lecture tonight," said Mark Twain. "I'm sure I can make him laugh." That evening the young man and his uncle sat in the first row. Mark Twain spoke directly (直接地) at the old man. He told some funny stories. But the old man never even smiled. Mark Twain told the funniest story he knew. But the old man didn't still smile. At last Mark Twain stopped. He felt very tired and disappointed (失望的). Some days later, Mark Twain told one of his friends about what had happened. "Oh," said his friend. "I know that old man. He is deaf."
