    Americans spend their weekends in different ways. But usually they choose the same aim(目的)—to rest, to enjoy beautiful places and to enjoy the time with their family and friends．

    Some Americans hold parties on Saturday night. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Then they won't get up until 9,10 or even 11:o'clock next morning．As soon as they get up they will go to the nearest corner shop to buy the daily newspaper(日报). {#blank#}2{#/blank#}It will help them to decide what to do on Sunday afternoon.

    Before going out on Sunday, they will have a meal, which is called "brunch"—"br" from "breakfast" and "unch" from "lunch". {#blank#}3{#/blank#}After brunch some Americans may have a picnic with their family or friends.They will take many things with them, such as fresh vegetables, sea food,drinks,table cloth(桌布)and so on. Usually they drive to a beautiful park, a lake or the seaside.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}It is the biggest meal of the week and all family members try to present(出席).

    Weekends are to be welcome everywhere. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

A. Try to tell him it is wrong of you two to do that. Then try to help them with his lessons in your spare time.

B. Tell him that he is doing something bad to animals. If he takes the eggs home, how will their mother feel when she can't find them?

C. You can get some examples from papers, magazines or TV shows, and let her know it's really bad.

D. Say sorry to him first. And try to repair it. Or you may give him your favorite toy car instead. Or to buy a new one for him.

E. A person's look or appearance(外表)doesn't mean everything. The most important thing is to study hard and have a good future.

    This is a home of the future, a smart home, where technology can do almost everything. Imagine we are in the year 2050; ①the computer wakes Tom up in the morning as usual. In front of him is a to-do list of the important events for the day, and it is provided by the computer， too. According to Tom's request, the computer serves a list of possible dishes. All the dishes are nice.

    As Tom eats breakfast, the computer reminds him to reply to Lucy. Before Tom finishes his next bite, Lucy's computer receives the message. Then Tom goes to the supermarket. The store's system checks his car when he drives to the pickup area and greets him. "Good morning, Tom! Your order is in Case 4. Thank you for shopping." When Tom removes his order from Case 4, the trade is completed automatically(自动地) over the information superhighway. That is, the money is electronically paid into the bank. Soon after arriving at the office, Tom reads another message from Lucy, telling him that she will go to have dinner with him.

    The smart home can also do many other things:

    Find things like keys and mobile phones.

    ②        (打开或关闭) machines and lights with your voice.

    Clean your home from clothes to buildings automatically.

    Record everything and everyone entering and leaving the house.

    Take care of each member of the family, young or old.

    ③With the development of technology, the smart home will come true in the future. It is sure to play an important part in our life.

    Whether it's one day off or a week, you don't need to be among people to have a great time. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} You can spend your holiday on your own doing something you have no time to do in your everyday life.

    Eat your favorite foods. They can bring you much pleasure for sure. You can make a healthy meal at home. Cook something you love but usually don't have time to make. Instead of having meals at home, you can also go to a local restaurant for something special. Eat it there, or bring it home. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    Stay away from technology. You may have a chance to find the real beauty of life. Maybe you can't help playing with your smartphones all day while you are on holiday alone. Why not create more time to go hiking, fly kites or do some other outdoor activities? {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} You can go shopping, see a film, or take a class. Take your time to search for something even small that you want. Going to see a movie or a show alone can be a fun experience. Use your holiday as a chance to try something new like dancing or painting.
