It was shocking that four in ten teenagers admitted they thought they were unable to stop using the Internet. Two-thirds of the 2, 000 students surveyed admitted they took their iPads, smart phones or laptops to bed.
Girls seemed to be more affected, spending their time chatting with friends on social networks while boys were more attracted by computer games.
The organization, Tablets for Students, questioned youngsters from 11 to 17.
An 11-year-old girl said, "I can never get it off, and at night I stay up for two to three hours after I'm meant to sleep. " Another 10- year-old student added, ""
The result of the survey inspired Tablets for Students to introduce a charter containing five top tips on how to deal with teenagers' need connected to the Internet.
Experts have expressed concerns that teenagers are leaving themselves weak to cyber bullying. They may have a point.
So next time your teenagers want to use their favorite electronic product before going to bed, consider telling them to leave it till morning and just letting them have a good dream instead!
