Hi. I'm Peter! I'm 12 years old. I have a brother. He's 10．His name is John. We have different hobbies（爱好）. I like watching TV very much. I have a small TV in my room. I like watching basketball games on TV. I think they're interesting. And I like carrots and eggs, too. I think they are good for me. John likes playing computer games. He thinks they're fun, but I think they're boring. John doesn't like fruit. He likes French fries（炸薯条 ） and ice-cream. And he likes hamburgers, too. I don't think they're healthy. I don't eat them.

Once there lived an old man in a mountain village. He was a famous hunter. He often went hunting alone in the mountains. He was not afraid of any wild animals, not even a tiger. 

One night, someone saw a tiger come into the village, and stole two sheep away. The next night the tiger came again. The villagers were frightened. They asked the old hunter to catch it so that they could have a safe life. 

When the old man heard about the tiger, he thought hard. He wondered why the tiger came at night twice but only stole the sheep. The next night he walked outside the village. Suddenly he saw the tiger coming. He quickly threw himself on the ground. To his surprise, the tiger did not come at him. But went away. He followed it quietly and found it was running on two of its feet just like a man. Then everything was clear. 

On the fourth day, when it got dark, the hunter took some animal skins with him and hid himself behind a big tree near the village. He was waiting for the" tiger". As soon as the " tiger" came near the tree, the old hunter jumped out, caught the " tiger" by the "leg" and said, " Don't be afraid. I do not mean to hurt you. You know who I am, don't you?"

The " tiger" said " Yes" and took off the tiger's skin. 

"You are poor. But you mustn't steal anything from others. Here are some animal skins for you. You may sell them at the market. With the money, you can buy food and clothes for your family. Work harder and try to make a living. " With tears in his eyes, the poor man thanked the kind-hearted old hunter and walked home. 

Known as the" Daughter of Dunhuang", Fan Jinshi has made great contributions to the Mogao Grottoes. 

 Fan's love of Dunhuang began in 1962. After graduating from Peking University, she decided to work at Dunhuang though the conditions there were1 . She and other workers made great efforts to protect the treasures from sand and dampness. They 2 introduced new materials and technologies to repair the damaged murals(壁画). In addition to protection, Fan has achieved success in Dunhuang studies. In 2015, Fan retired but her efforts to study and protect the Mogao Grottoes 3 . With her eyes set on the future, she has taken great care to build up a talent pool in Dunhuang. 

"I was given a(n)4 to do something for the Mogao Grottoes. " she says. "My life is 5 , and I have done a good thing for our world. "

It's not often that two problems add up to one solution, but Mr Than Tun Win has made it happen. His programme LessWalk takes the problem of wasted shared bikes and turns them into an easy way for students in Myanmar to travel a long way to school. 

In the last few years, companies of shared bikes began taking up streets. But it didn't take long before there were too many bikes. Some companies went out of business, leaving behind thousands of new shared bikes. 

Mr Than Tun Win realised that these bikes could do good for students in Myanmar: Some of them travel an hour or more on foot every day to school. " If they spend less time on the way, they can have more time to study and have better chance to find good jobs, " he said. 

Soon Mr Than Tun Win raised around $400, 000 and bought shared bikes and shipped them to Myanmar. It wasn't easy — there was much work in moving the bikes from one country to another. 

Though LessWalk began in March 2019, the programme has brought 7, 200 bikes into Myanmar that year. Mr Than Tun Win hopes to bring in 100, 000 bikes and expand(扩展) the programme to Laos and Cambodia. 

I will always admire(钦佩) my father and his belief. 

As I held my father's hands one night, I couldn't help but notice their calluses(老茧) and roughness(粗糙). His hands tell the story of his life as a 1 . 

One summer, a drought (干旱) hit Ontario, turning it into a burning desert. On one of those hot 2 , I was picking sweet corn with my dad to fill the last order from the grocery store. Fifty dozen was all we needed, which 3 took twenty minutes. That morning, however, the work didn't go 4 . After forty minutes of walking in the field, we still needed twenty dozen. I was completely impatient and angry. 5 the basket heavily, I said, "If the store wants its last twenty dozen, they can pick it themselves!" Dad laughed. "Just think, my little girl, only 6 dozen left for each of us and then we're done. " Such is Dad--whatever problem he 7 , he never gives up. 

8 , the bad effects of the drought were felt all over our country. It was a difficult time for everyone, but Dad remained silent and calm, optimistic (乐观的). He 9 to be thankful for other things like good health and food on our plate. Only then did I truly 10 to admire Dad and his confidence that guided us through the hard times. 

Dad is also a living example of real 11 . From morning to evening, he works countless hours to 12 our family. He always puts our happiness 13 his own, and never fails to cheer me on at my sports games no matter how tired he is after long days. His love and selfless nature have 14 me to put others first. 

Dad, the life 15 I have learned from you will stay with me forever. You are my father, teacher, friend and, most importantly, my hero. 

Sam is a 14-year-old boy. He loves the beach and the sea, 1  he has never seen them before. He just searched for the wonderful 2  of beaches in Sanya on the Internet. So he planned to go there to enjoy the 3  sights(风景). 

First, Sam made a 4  of things to carry for his trip. He chose to go to Sanya by plane, so his bag couldn't 5  too much. He planned to stay there 6  a week, so he took some clothes with him. Sam also decided to wear 7  because the weather there was hot. The sunlight in Sanya was very strong, so he'd better take his 8  when going there. After preparing these, Sam 9  an early bird ticket on the Internet. That was because the early bird ticket would 10  less. Finally, he searched the Internet for a lot of delicious local food. 

In this way, Sam had a great time there!
