Chinese people are proud of their food. However, when foreigners like Britons think of Chinese food, their impressions (印象) of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} are different from what you might think.

I grew up in the UK. The Chinese food I was used to {#blank#}2{#/blank#}was food from Guangdong. For example, a(n){#blank#}3{#/blank#} dish I would order would be sweet and sour pork (糖醋排骨). It is no longer just Cantonese food.”

What do foreigners think when they come to China and taste real Chinese food? You'll be glad{#blank#}7{#/blank#} that in my experience, the impressions have been very good.

My personal favorite is Yunnan food. And every foreigner I've eaten it with was{#blank#}8{#/blank#} by the different flavors (风味) when they try it.

One of my friends{#blank#}9{#/blank#}in Yunnan for a year. She says she still hasn't had “proper Yunnan food” since then. That's the{#blank#}10{#/blank#}when you finally eat real Chinese food—you become picky (挑剔的)!
