Shanghai changes a lot in transportation(交通).

    In the past, there were few cars. Now there are many kinds of cars. There were not any bridges above the Huangpu River. Now there are some bridges on it. There were no tunnels(隧道)under it.

    There were no undergrounds. Now there are many undergrounds. There were no light rails(轻轨)and maglevs(磁悬浮). Now there are some lights and maglevs.

    The changes make our lives more convenient(方便). I like the changes.

  My English name is Tina. I live in Jinan. It's a beautiful city. I like drawing pictures and collecting stamps. My mother works in a school. She is a teacher. She teaches art. My home is near her school. So my mother often goes to work on foot. Sometimes she teaches me to draw in the evening. My father is a doctor. He works in a big hospital. He goes to work by bus. He likes collecting things too. But he doesn't collect stamps. He collect coins. He has many coins. I like my family.

    Tomorrow is Sunday. Wang Jie isn't going to school. He is going to get up early.  In the morning, he is going to visit a science museum. He's going there by subway.  He's going to have lunch in McDonald's. In the afternoon, he is going to play football with his friends. At about 3: 30, he is going home to do homework. Then he is going to clean his bedroom. He's going to cook dinner for his father and mother in the evening.

Cao Chong weighs the elephant

    When we want to know how much we weigh, we stand on a scale. But when something is very big, like an elephant, how do we weigh it? A long time ago, the famous warlord, Cao Cao, faced this question.

    One day, Cao Cao received an elephant as a gift. "What a big animal! How much does it weigh?" Cao Cao asked. No one could answer his question because no scale was big enough.

    Cao Cao's six-year-old son Cao Chong said, "Father, let me try!"

    Cao Chong asked a man to get the elephant onto a boat on a river. The boat went down a little, and Cao Chong marked the water level on the boat.  He then asked some strong men to put rocks on the boat.  When the water reached the mark, Cao Chong said, "Stop!"

    "Let's weigh these rocks, and add their weights together. Then we'll know the weight of the elephant," said Cao Chong.

    Finally, they found out the weight of the elephant. Cao Cao was very happy.

    Last night, Tom got on a bus. He was lucky to have a seat near the window. He opened his newspaper and began to read.

    After passing a few bus stops, a woman got on the bus with a big basket. There were no empty seats. She came and stood right beside Tom.

    At that moment, Tom was reading his newspaper and didn't see her. A few minutes later he looked up and put his newspaper in his pocket (口袋). He tried to get out of his seat, but the woman pushed (推) him back into his seat quickly.

    He tried to stand up again, but again the woman pushed him back into his seat. Then she said, "please don't stand up. I don't want men to give their seat on buses. men and women are equal (平等的) now." But Tom looked at her angrily and said ," This time I am really going to stand up, madam. You've made me miss two bus stops and I'm too tired to miss the next one, too,"

    After hearing this, the woman was very embarrassed (尴尬) and let him go.

Hello, I'm Tony. I was very busy last Sunday. I cleaned up my room and cleaned the windows on Sunday morning. I visited my grandpa on Sunday afternoon. I studied Chinese on Sunday evening. I watched TV at 9:30. And I went to bed at ten o'clock.
