Vivian Maier was an American street photographer born in New York City. Although born in the U.S., it was in France that Maier 1 most of her youth. Maier returned to the U.S. in 1951 where she worked 2 a nanny for over 40 years. A nanny is a person who takes care of young children in the children's own home.

    A nanny's job is not easy. In her free time,3Vivian begun to try the art of photography. She spent her days off walking along the4 of Chicago and taking photographs. Vivian would take photos that she5 from the eyes of others secretly. Most people did not know they were taken in the pictures. She took over 150,000 photographs during her lifetime6 of the people and buildings of Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles, although she also travelled and photographed worldwide.

    During her lifetime, Vivian's photographs were unknown and unpublished. Many of her photos were never printed because of 7. She never got married. She had no children either. She lived a 8 life and became even poorer in her old age.

    A Chicago collector, John Maloof, happened to find some of Vivian's photos at the market. He decided to 9 Vivian's photographs on the website. Thousands of people showed their great 10 in them. Vivian's works have become famous around the world since then.

    Vivian Maier opened one of the most attractive windows of American life in the second half of the twentieth century.

    He was pleased to learn that Chibi knew all the places where the wild grapes and wild potatoes grew. He was amazed to 1 how much Chibi knew about all the flowers in our class garden. He liked Chibi's black and white drawings and put them up on the wall to be 2. He liked Chibi's own handwriting, which no one but Chibi could read, and he put that up on the wall.

    But, when Chibi appeared on the stage at the talent show of that year, no one could 3 his eyes. "Who is that? What can that stupid do up there?"

    Until Mr Isobe announced that Chibi was going to imitate(模仿) the voices of crows. "Voices? Voices of crows?"

    4he imitated the voices of newly hatched crows. And he made the mother crow's voice. He showed how crows cry early in the morning. He showed how crows cry when the village people have some unhappy accident. He showed how crows 5 when they are happy and cheerful. Everybody's mind was taken to the 6mountainside from which Chibi probably crone to school.

    Chibi made very special 7deep down in his throat(喉咙) to imitate a crow in an old tree in the end. Now everybody could imagine   8the far and lonely place where Chibi lived with his family.

    Then Mr Isobe explained 9 Chibi had learned those calls--leaving his home for school at sunrise, and arriving home at sunset, every day for six long years.

    Every one of us cried, thinking how much we had been 10 to Chibi all those long years. He was a boy beyond our usual imagination!

Once upon a time, there was a king. He always worried about what might happen, the future. One day, the king noticed a cobbler（修鞋匠）. Although he wore ragged（破旧的）clothes, he was very happy. Why could he smile so brightly? The king decided to find out the reason. 

The next day, the king dressed in rags and followed the cobbler home. 

"Please, sir, can you give some food to me?" asked the king. 

"Of course," said the cobbler. 

"Why are you so happy?"

"Today I made enough money by repairing shoes to buy the bread."

"But what will happen if you don't make enough money for food tomorrow?"

"I have confidence. Everything will be fine."

This touched the king. But he wondered what would happen if the cobbler couldn't make enough money. So the next day, the king didn't allow anyone to repair shoes. The cobbler didn't know why, but he wasn't sad. Whenhe saw some villagers trying to carry water home, he helped them and got a little money from them. 

That evening the king went to the coobler's house again. The cobbler was having soup and smiling. 

"How could you pay for the food today?" asked the king. 

"I made money by helping the villagers carry water," said the cobbler. "But what will you do tomorrow?"

"I have confidence. Everything will be fine."

"Your confidence has driven away my fear about the future. Thank you." said the king. 

I never thought about being a collector. But a few years ago all my friends had the hobby of 1 something. Some of them collected stones. Some collected dolls. Others collected postcards. 

I thought I should collect something, too. I wanted to collect something 2 because I didn't want to follow others. 3 . I decided to collect glasses from different places. When I went to a new place, I 4 one there. I thought this would make me think of all the places I visited. 

Soon all my friends heard of my hobby and 5 buying me glasses from all the places they visit- ed. Therefore, my 6 grew bigger and bigger. I didn't have enough 7 for them. It was 8 for me to have all kinds of glasses. I didn't want glasses from places I had not visited. Finally I 9 them all to my friend Jenny. She was just starting a 10 collection. 

From my story, I want to tell you something: do not collect things that you don't want. 

I have many hobbies, and one of them is drawing. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} pictures for three years. If I sit quietly in one place, I can draw for hours. Drawing keeps me busy and relaxes my mind. However, no one knows {#blank#}2{#/blank#} I love drawing so much. 

In the past, I didn't like communicating with others because I thought that compared with talking with others, I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to show my feelings quietly, so I didn't have any friends. Sometimes I even felt  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} about it. 

Drawing is not just a way for me to spend the time. It has shown me the best way to share my ideas and feelings  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I started it. It has helped me connect more with nature {#blank#}6{#/blank#} helped me feel its beauty. Trees, birds, animals, rivers, and clouds are something that I like to draw. 

So far, I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} my own way of drawing. My art teacher always praises(表扬) me and{#blank#}8{#/blank#} me many useful drawing skills. At the same time, my parents and friends encourage me as well. 

Before I started to draw, I didn't know what my future plan  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} . Now, my future plan is to become a real artist. I believe that it is possible {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I keep practising hard. So I will keep drawing for the rest(其余) of my life.
