Anthony arrived that night, "Can I call you Dad?" he asked.

"No." I needed to keep my 12 .

Monday morning a worker in the center came to 13 Anthony. From their talk, I learned he had been 14 three times, but nobody would take him in.

Looking at Anthony, I saw something that made me think of the 15 boy I had once been. "I'll take him in," I said.

For nearly two decades, a thin, sun-burnt postal worker could frequently be seen carrying packages along a dangcrous mountain trail in the Taihang Mountains.

The 10-kilometer-long route, which is between 20 centimeters and 1 meter wide, is known as the "cat road" by locals, meaning that it is so dangerous that only cats could walk on it. Whereas, Zhao Yuefang, a postal worker in Ewu township in Huguan county, Shanxi province, had to walk the route every day to deliver mail.

Every day at the crack of dawn, he would start his journey along the "cat road". From picking up the day's post to delivering it to villagers and returning along the same route, it took Zhao four days. During rainy and snowy seasons, the mountain road, part of which hugs the cliffs, would become slippery and dangerous. One day in the winter of 2003, the "cat road" was covered in thick snow and he slipped off the trail. Fortunately, he was able to stop his sharp descent by grabbing a tree branch and slowly managed to climb to safety.

By 2012, Zhao had walked more than 300,000 km and delivered over 800,000 pieces of mail. Born and raised in the deep mountains, Zhao truly understands the significance of mail deliveries to villagers. "They depend on the mail to keep in touch with the outside world," he said. "Their sheer joy written on their face while receiving any post struck me," he added.

In 2012, a 67-km-long tourist highway was built and gone were those days when Zhao risked his life to walk on the "cat road". But Zhao was even busier than before. "The number of packages I handle daily now exceeds the number I used to deal with in the past," said Zhao, adding that villagers are turning to online shopping and ordering more and more goods by post.

In a small town lived Matthew, a diligent（勤奋的） youth with a passion for English. Nevertheless, he was completely  1  of the online world, leading him topav a heavy  2  in a case later.

One day, Matthew received an email from a stranger, claiming by 3  a special English learning material, he could easily improve his grades. The email also 4 several success stories, which convinced. Matthew. He followed the instructions and transferred much money to the sender's 5 . Receiving the material, he found it worthless. Matthew felt 6 and regretful, yet powerless.

However, the story didn't 7 there. After the setback, Matthew began to  8 the world of online scams （诈骗）. Discovering similar ones, he decided to use his English skills to expose them on social media, and  9  people to be watchful of online scams.

April 3 -- A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the sea area near Hualien of China's Taiwan at 7:58 am Wednesday (Beijing Time), followed by multiple aftershocks, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

At least 26 buildings collapsed in the earthquake Wednesday, 15 of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} are in Hualien County. More than 91,000 households are without electricity,

The quake caused tsunami(海啸) warnings in Taiwan, southern Japan and the Philippines, with waves less than half a meter observed along some coasts, and caused airlines {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(suspend ) flights.

Taiwan is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(regular) rocked by earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, which runs around the edge of the Pacific Ocean and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(cause) massive volcanic activity from Indonesia to Chile.

Wednesday's quake is the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(strong) to hit Taiwan since 1999. That {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(power) 7.7 magnitude quake hit 150 kilometers south of Taipei, killing 2,400 people {#blank#}7{#/blank#} injuring 10,000 others.

The Chinese mainland's Taiwan Affairs Office on Wednesday expressed concern and offered {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(assist) to Taiwan following the earthquake. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the office, stated the mainland's deep concern for the situation and extended heartfelt condolences(慰唁) to those {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(affect) in Taiwan. She emphasized the mainland is close monitoring of developments and is willing to provide support {#blank#}10{#/blank#} disaster relief efforts.

The excitement that soccer awakens in a person is a universal feeling. That is why no one should feel left out of the1 , particularly at a2 match in a stadium (体育场), where there may not be a sports commentator (解说员) to3 the event. This can result in individuals with visual impairments (视觉障碍) not being included.

A4 man named Mike Kearney knows this all too well, but he luckily has a great friend. A5 video recorded Kearney's cousin Stephen Garcia describing a whole soccer match to him at the stadium—and both6 together after their team scored.

Growing up in poverty in rural Kenya,Nelly Cheboi watched her single mother work tirelessly so she could attend school. 

From an early age,she realized that her family,along with others like hers in their village, was1 a cycle that left them little hope. Cheboi attended college.2 a scholarship in the United States,worked odd jobs to support her family,and discovered her3 for computer science. She4 the success in finding jobs to her computer literacy. She knew she wanted to share it with her5 back home. 

Today,she's giving 4,000 kids the chance for a6 future through her nonprofit, TechLit Africa. The organization uses recycled7 to create technology labs in schools in rural Kenya. 

In 2018,she began8 recycled computers. She started small,carrying the machines to Kenya and9 customs fees and taxes herself. TechLit Africa now works with shipping companies to10 the donated computers so it's more cost11 . The donated hardware is12 to partner schools in rural Kenya,where students aged 4 to 12 receive daily classes and13 opportunities from professionals and gain skills that will help improve their education and prepare them for future jobs. 

"My hope is that when the first TechLit kids graduate from high school,they're able to get a job online14 they will know how to code,"Cheboi said. "The world is your oyster when you are educated. By bringing the resources,by bringing these skills,we are15 the world to them. "
