This Christmas, maybe different from previous years, a strong desire drives me to make my own Christmas gifts. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (honest) speaking, I've promised myself this more than once. When I asked some people {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they could sew(缝纫), only a few raised their hands. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} when I asked who wanted to learn, nearly everyone responded positively, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (hope) to learn something practical.

    In recent years,sandstorms {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(occur) in China frequently,especially in northwestern areas, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}severe influence has caused wide concern in China.

There're several reasons for this.First of all,people are cutting down trees without planting more, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make) some land become deserts.Another reason is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}it rains less due to the environment pollution.

    To {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(efficient) prevent sandstorms,first,we should plant more trees and grass which can keep the soil {#blank#}6{#/blank#} being washed away.Second,more green fences should {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(build) along the desert, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}it helps to control the process of the desertification.

    Let's take action to do what we can {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(prevent) sandstorms from today.Soon the golden days we have been looking forward to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(come).

    When I was thirteen, my parents and I visited an eye doctor. After the examination, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} doctor said with coldness that I had an eye disease. I had inherited it, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} my brother's eyes seemed to be fine.

    Fifteen years after that, my father began to lose {#blank#}3{#/blank#} sight and I did, too. I fixed all my attention {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the effects of my own darkness. My world seemed {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (break) down and it destroyed all my dreams.

He taught me the determination to move forward {#blank#}7{#/blank#} facing difficulties. His journey taught me valuable lessons for my own path in the darkness. He had held onto his faith and moved from his comfortable hometown to this unknown land.

    I did the same as I stepped into the strange {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (sight) world. Later I gained confidence and learned the language of thankfulness. With great appreciation for my father's example, I learned the powerful combination of faith and insistence and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (perform) my own different roles. Luckily, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} I inherited from my father helped me see my life differently.

    Brownie went everywhere with us. People would stop and ask if they could pet her. Of course she'd let anyone pet her. She was just the most lovable dog. There were many times{#blank#}6{#/blank#}we'd be out walking and a small child would come over and pull on her hair. She never barked or tried to get away. The{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(fun) thing was that she would smile. This frightened people because{#blank#}8{#/blank#}thought she was showing her teeth. Far from the truth, she loved everyone.

    Now many years have passed since Brownie{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(die) of old age. I still miss the days when she was{#blank#}10{#/blank#}us.
