    A dog got away from his leash（拴狗颈的皮带）one day and went for a walk in the woods. After a time, he met a wolf.

    The dog said to the wolf, "Brother Wolf, you look so thin! How can you be happy when you are so thin? You should come to live with me and my master. I eat much every day and I never worry about food."

    The wolf thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, you are right. Why should I be out here in the wild hunting for small pieces of food when someone else will give it to me? And you are so well fed. Very well, I will come to live with you."

    "Good," said the dog, "then follow me."

    As they went to the dog's home, the wolf noticed a patch (斑点) around the dog's neck where the fur had been worn off.

    "Brother Dog," asked the wolf, "why do you have that patch around your neck where there is no fur?"

    The dog slowed down, stopped and turned to the wolf with sadness in his eyes.

    "That is where they place the leash around my neck. They do this so they can control me and keep me in my place," replied the dog, sadly.

    "Never!" said the wolf as he began to go back into the forest. "I would rather be hungry and free than be fat and as a slave."

    When I was a kid, I did something really terrible. My father bought me two goldfish and named them "Iasc" and" Iasc Elie". He told me that meant "Fish" and "Other Fish" in Irish. To an eight-year-old child, the names seemed really boring.

    These boring names made me feel the goldfish were boring, too.  They did nothing more than swim around in their bowl. Sometimes, for fun, they would swim to the bottom of their bowl and dance around along the bottom, looking for interesting pieces of gravel.

    I tried many ways to make the goldfish more exciting. The most interesting thing was to see how long they could live out of the water. I took a fish out of the water with my hands and watched it gasping for air. Then I put it back in the bowl.  And then I would take them out of the water again, for longer and longer each time.

    Iasc and Iasc Elie started swimming towards the top of the water, not moving very much. Then they started floating on the top of the water. In other words, they were dead.

    I thought that bigger pets are more exciting, such as a cat and a dog. It would live longer than a goldfish, and then I kept a dog as my pet.

It was our school'syearly dancing show. I was excited that I was chosen by the teacher this time {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. I didn't have anyexperience of dancing for a show. I would dance in front of all the students and{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(teacher). It made me very proud.

However, I was a bitsad because my father had no time to watch {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (I) dance. He was invited{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(have) a business meeting. I knew that my father would surely come to my showif he could. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(lucky), my mother and my elder sister were still coming to watch my show.

{#blank#}6{#/blank#}the beginning of the day, Iwas very nervous. After changing into the dress and getting my makeup done, I felt{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(relax). Then I went on to the stage bravely. I was very glad to see my motherand sister sitting in {#blank#}8{#/blank#}second row,

Just before the lightsturned dark, I saw my father rush into the hall and take the seat beside my mother.{#blank#}9{#/blank#}a pleasant surprise it was! The sight of my father made me {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (smile). I begandancing confidently. Soon after the show, my family came backstage tocongratulate me. I was so happy and lucky to have my family's support.

I'm Dick. I have a good friend. His 1 name is Liu. His given name is Yihong. He comes from Zhongshan. He is 15 2 old. He is a tall boy. He has a round face, a small nose and two big ears. His parents are 3 . They work on a farm in Hunan. So he 4 his grandmother and his little sister. He is 5 and he often helps others, so he has many friends. 

He can hardly (几乎不) see anything, but he goes to school and studies like other students. He loves 6 and music class is his favorite. He often sings for his 7 at school. On Sundays, some students go out to 8 games or watch TV at home, but he learns singing and playing the piano in the school music room. It's not 9 , but he doesn't give up (放弃). He will have a music 10 in the school hall next Sunday afternoon.

I like him very much because he studies hard for his dream(梦想). 

I start my first day of school at junior high today! What I am thinking about makes me1 . I don't know anything about junior high. I am going to be a new kid in the school and I am going to have to make new 2 .

I am not alone(孤单的). All of us going into junior high are in the3 boat. Though(尽管)I am 4 being a new junior high school student, I am also excited about it! I am excited about all the different 5 I get to study.

I will miss my old friends, but I 6 hope to make new friends. The letter from my new school 7 that this Friday will be Club Day. There are a lot of 8 at my new school. I think I might join the Film- Making Club. It is a good way to 9 new friends and share hobbies.

A group of American high school students built a bus stop shelter(遮蔽物) for a 5- year- old boy Ryder Killam.

There is something {#blank#}1{#/blank#} with Ryder's legs. Every morning, he has to wait for the school bus outside in his wheelchair(轮椅). {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it's only about 20 meters from his house to the bus stop, it is quite a long way for Ryder.

At first, Ryder's family {#blank#}3{#/blank#} up a big umbrella, so Ryder could sit under it when he waited. But it didn't {#blank#}4{#/blank#} when the weather was bad. They tried {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a few other ways but they hardly ever worked, either. They decided to ask the community for {#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

Some high school {#blank#}7{#/blank#} heard about the news and wanted to give the little boy a hand. They worked for weeks and built a nice shelter for Ryder. It is just like {#blank#}8{#/blank#} small house. Now, Ryder can stay in it when he waits for his school bus without (不用) worrying {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the bad weather.

" We are really happy to work for our community," one of the students said." And {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is pretty cool to help someone in need."
