Our family {#blank#}1{#/blank#} red because it was the Spring Festival yesterday. We got up early in the morning. My mom was busy. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}her glasses and then {#blank#}3{#/blank#} my younger brother. When everything was ready, we{#blank#}4{#/blank#} our coats and went out to visit our relatives.

I'm Timo Halla. I1 with my parents in Helsinki， Finland. I'm happy every day. Now, it's December. Every Tuesday, I usually get up at 7:40. 1 often listen to the news2 music. My mum always cooks for me. After 3 , I walk to school. And it only takes me 10 4 .

My school begins at 9:00.There are 18 5 in my class. Each lesson is 45 minutes. Between lessons we have a 6 , and we can do other things with our friends. We have three7 in the morning-one Finnish lesson and two home economics lessons. The afternoon lessons begin at 12:30 and8 at2:15. Then I go to my ice hockey club.

I usually get home around 4:00. It is already9 outside. All the lights are on. I often have dinner at6: 00. Then, I read with my parents for an hour. After that, I 10 my school things for the next day. At 9:30, it's time for me to go to bed.

"The more you work the land (地), the better your crops (庄稼) will be." That's what our school told us during (在……期间) our Growing Week! 

In the morning, we went to our rooms. Then, our teacher 1 us how to make the bed and where to put our things. At first, we didn't know why we needed to 2 these simple things. But the teacher said, "Even simple things can be 3 until (直到) you know how to do them."

At lunchtime, the teachers told us, "You have to 4 after eating." At first, we didn't do it very well, 5 the teachers showed us the right way to clean them. After that, the dishes looked very clean!

In the evening, the teachers taught us how to 6 rice. We made some mistakes (错误) at first, but 7 , we got it right with lots of hard work! We were so 8 , because we were eating food made by ourselves. That night, we ate all the rice. 

Time went by 9 , and Growing Week ended. I really had a good time and learned a lot. Now, I think it's time for me to help out 10 at home.

①As a kind of traditional Chinese art, paper cutting has a long history. The first and earliest paper cutting was found in China about 1,500 years ago. But the traditional art is at risk of disappearing （消失） now. Luckily, Voyo Woo, a Chinese immigrant （移民）, is trying to bring the art back to life.

②Ms Woo began to study paper cutting as a 14-year-old girl in her hometown in China. She said all the students at school had to learn paper cutting. But she had a deep love for it. So her teacher spent more time teaching her after class. Later, she won second prize in a national painting and calligraphy （书法） competition. Ms Woo went to America after she finished college in 2008. Soon after that, she took part in an activity to promote Chinese paper cutting. And then she was invited to show the art in many important activities. "It is important to promote the art to Americans or anyone who is interested in it. Maybe it will make the art more popular." Woo said.

③From paper cutting, people can know about Chinese cultural values, history and stories of people's life. Ms Woo uses the art as a tool to show Chinese culture to the people who know little about it. Chinese art is not only for Chinese, but also for people all over the world.

I am Helen. I'm a middle school student now. I have a good time at school. This term（学期） we have nine subjects（科目）——math, English, Chinese, geography, history, science, art, P. E and music. My father is a math teacher and he says math is easy and interesting. I like math, but I can't do well in math exam. I don't know why. I will try my best to solve it step by step. I like Chinese very much because I think it is beautiful and important. I always read Chinese books in the evening. I also like history. It is my favorite（最喜欢的） subject. Mr. Brown is great fun. In his history class, I can learn many interesting stories.

We always have art, P. E. or music in the afternoon. For me, the classes in the afternoon are fun and relaxing. I like to draw lots of pictures. My art teacher, Mrs. Smith, is nice. I listen to her carefully in class. In P. E. class, I like to play ping-pong with my classmates.
