The mobile phone is a useful thing, but maybe I don't know {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to use it. Sometimes it makes things difficult for me.

    One day I wanted to see my friend nearby. I could {#blank#}2{#/blank#}athis house in five minutes, but I thought it would be better to{#blank#}3{#/blank#}him up. I rang him for the first time, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the line was busy.

    Five minutes later, there was an answer, but it was the wrongnumber. Then I tried {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and this time I got an answer from him. I  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him if he was at home in the afternoon. And he said he would be at home all afternoon. So I went to his house, but then I found {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in. I called him for the fourth time. This time I got   {#blank#}8{#/blank#}angry that I said, “You are not at home? But you just told me over the telephone that you would be at home all afternoon!”

    Here was his {#blank#}9{#/blank#}, “No, I said: I will NOT be at home all afternoon.”

    I went back to my room. What{#blank#}10{#/blank#}could I do? Nothing!

An artist found that he had not yet painted the one “real” picture.

In his search, he met a priest (牧师) who asked him {#blank#}1{#/blank#} he was going.

“I don't know,” said the artist. “I want {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, (paint) the most beautiful thing in the world.”

“How easy!” replied the priest. “It is Faith.”

The artist travelled on. Later, he met a woman{#blank#}3{#/blank#} told him that the most beautiful thing in the world was “Love”. “Love  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (make) the world a better place,” she said.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (late) he met a soldier. The artist asked him {#blank#}6{#/blank#} same question and the soldier said “Peace” was the most beautiful thing in the world.

“How can I paint  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} —Faith, Love and Peace?” thought the artist.

As he entered the doorway, light shone in his j{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (eye) and he realized that his search was over. In the faces of his wife and children, he saw Love and Faith. He sat in his favorite old chair comfortably and his heart {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (be) at peace.

The artist painted the most beautiful thing in the world and  {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (call) it “HOME”.

    Li Fang graduated(毕业) last year. Now she is a teacher in a poor v{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It is far f{#blank#}2{#/blank#} a city. The life there is hard, but she never {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (give) up. She likes to teach the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (child). She doesn't want anyone in her class to drop o{#blank#}5{#/blank#} of school. She often says to them, "With a good {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (educate), you can make a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(different). You can make a good life for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (you)." She always helps her students {#blank#}9{#/blank#} every possible way. All the students like her. They think she is very great.
