My friend Jack always had accidents. He did not1 attention to what he was doing or where he was going.

 A few months ago, 2car hit him while he was on his way home from school. The driver was tired,3 he did not see Jack. And Jack was talking on4 mobile phone and was riding in the middle of the road. The car hit him. He 5 his leg and was in hospital for over a month.

  Last week, he was not looking 6 he was going as usually. As a result, he fell into a hole 7the park. Some 8people in the park helped him climb out of the hole and then took him to hospital. 9 he did not break an arm or a leg this time.     On a snowy evening, a rich lady was standing by the road. She was very worried. Her1 had broken down. Just then a poor man named Robert came. He was on his way back home from work as usual.

    Stephen Hawking, a famous British physicist, died aged 76 on March 14^th, 2018. He died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday, his family said.

    As one of the well-known 1on space and time in the world, Hawking devoted his whole life to discovering the secrets of the Universe, and he is called the King of the Universe. However, this genius's life was not smooth and he had been 2 from the disease since he was 21 years old. When he studied maths and science at Oxford University, he became 3ill, causing his life very harsh: he could neither speak with his mouth nor stand on his legs or move his body.4, he was given only a few years to live. But he refused to 5 his hope of living and went on to study at Cambridge University after6 from Oxford University. In 1965, he got a doctor's degree in philosophy.     It was a wet day and I had a 2time. I was busy and everyone I talked to was in a bad mood(心情). What's more, I went out without breakfast and I left my 3at home. So I couldn't get lunch and was terribly hungry.

    When I finished my work, I 4to ask my wife to meet me at the door with some money so that I could quickly go to buy 5. Then I quickly made my way home in hope of eating my 6meal of the day at 5:00 p.m.

    As I was halfway home, my wife told me by phone that a friend of ours was in 7and needed a lift(搭便车)home. My mind said, “I will get him 8I get the meal.” But my mouth said, “All right, I'll give him a 9”

    Now you would guess the person that I was helping is a 13friend of mine. But, in fact, he is a friend of a friend's.

    I wonder if I will ever see this person again, but I feel glad I was there when he 14me.

    It was a very foggy morning in London. The fog was so thick that it was impossible to see more than a foot or so. Buses, cars and taxis were stopped along the roadside, unable to move because the drivers couldn't 1. People were trying to walk to their destinations, but most were losing their 2 in the fog.

    Mr. Smith had a very important meeting at the House of Commons, but he was not familiar with the area and 3 could take him there in such heavy fog. So he was a little 4.
