Three1ago, my family got our first computer. 2 the beginning of this summer, I found it was too old and I wanted to get a 3 one. After my father and I talked for a long time, he 4 . We went to many shops and read many ads 5 we bought an HP computer.

    During the first week, I noticed 6 our computer had some problems. I spent many hours 7 to fix it, but it 8 work. So I 9 to phone the HP company and ask them 10 to work out my problem. They told me to wait until the next morning because all their workers were 11 that day.

    The next morning two workers came. It took them many hours to mend it, but the computer 12 did not work. My dad had no other way but to return the whole thing. A few days later, we decided that I should go on the Internet and order some parts to build a new computer by 13 .

    It was not an easy job for me to build a new computer. I tried many times, and in the end I was successful. From these setbacks(挫折), I have learned a lot. Now I believe that if the HP computer hadn't had any problems, 14 I would not have learned how to build the new one. Even though I spent lots of time on it, I know it wasn't 15.

The boy wants to go out to fly a kite. But his father does not agree{#blank#}1{#/blank#}him because the rain is coming. So he asks his mom whether he can fly the kite indoors. His mom doesn't agree. The boy is sad. And then he asks whether he can watch TV for a while. Luckily, his mom finally agrees {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the idea.

I have a neighbor we call "Happy". I have never seen her angry at anything and never heard her say a harsh (苛刻)  word to anyone or about anyone.

Happy and her husband Ben, 70, have a huge garden. They spent many happy hours together working on it. Most of the neighbors watched interestingly as Ben doubled the size of their garden. As the cost of food climbed faster than Ben's beans, we all wished we also had such a large garden. As the rest of us spent our dollars at the market, Happy could be seen picking beans in her backyard.

Last month, Happy and Ben invited most of the neighborhood over for an "all-day food fest". We were told to bring gloves and arrive very early in the morning. We didn't know what was about to take place.

By 9:00 am, there were nine of us in the garden picking tomatoes, beans, okra, and squash. By 10:00 am, there was lots of laughter. We shared a lot of stories. By five o'clock, everyone was a little drunk from the wine and beer. After dinner, we played games. As we were leaving, Happy and Ben handed each of us a shopping bag filled with the bounty（收成） of the day, already packaged and frozen. What a delightful gift!

Well, the point wasn't so much about the food. The true gift was a day of friends enjoying one another's company. None of it would have happened if it had been for Happy and Ben's garden. Now they have a blog about gardening in case we decided to plant a garden. And I am so proud of my tomato plants!

It was late and there weren't many people on the street. l guessed a lot of people were probably asleep. But I was on the way home from my office. 

There was a man riding his bike behind me. I didn't think anything of it until I turned off the highway to go home and he turned off too. Then I turned into another street and he followed me again. 

I was starting to feel a bit afraid especially when I turned into my own street and he followed me there too, I parked my bike in front of my house and he stopped in front of my house too. I was feeling quite scared by then, He was all dressed up in his bike clothes and I wanted to know what was going on. He came up to me and said my indicator (转向灯) wasn't working. He said that he was worried about me. He wanted to make sure 1 got to my home safely and knew about the problem so I could work it out. 1 thanked him for his kindness and he got back on his bike and rode off. 

l learnt an important lesson that day: Do not be so quick to judge (判断) a person. Maybe a person doesn't look like a good man, but he might have a heart of gold.

 In 2009, Phil Lecomte traveled to a small town at the foot of China's Huangshan Mountain with his camera and backpack. After walking about 10 kilometers by the mountain, and just as he wanted to give up, the Frenchman saw a beautiful village— Tunxi. He fell in love with the beautiful nature there.

 Lecomte lived in Tunxi for three months. Tunxi is most famous for its Huizhou culture street that has a history of hundreds of years. "I didn' t want to leave here anymore," Lecomte said. His trip to China turned into a long stay.

 He often hikes or rides a motorbike with his friends, away from the busy cities, to find hidden scenery(隐秘的风景) around Huangshan Mountain. They come to the fields by rivers, ancient(古老的) villages, and forests again and again.

 Lecomte likes taking photos wherever he goes. Up till now he has taken more than 118,000 photos in China. Now, he shares these photos on Chinese social media(社交媒体). One of his favorite photos shows a little girl building a snowman in an ancient street. "The girl was me when I was little!" a young woman said excitedly after the photo was posted.
