Around the world more and more people are taking part in dangerous sports and activities. I would consider bungee jumping（蹦极）to be a good example of such an activity. You jump from a high place, 200 meters above the ground with an elastic（有弹性的）rope tied to your ankles. You fall at up to 150 kilometers an hour until the rope stops you from hitting the ground. It is said that about 2 million people around the world have now tried bungee jumping. Other activities which most people would say are as risky as bungee jumping include jumping from tall buildings and diving into the sea from the top of high cliffs（悬崖）. 

Why do people take part in such activities? Some psychologists suggest that it is because life in modern society has become safe and boring. 

Nowadays, according to many people, life offers little excitement. They live and work in comparatively safe conditions （条件）：They buy food in shops; and there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become ill. The answer for some of these people is to look for danger in activities such as bungee jumping. 

Hello, boys and girls! Do you like to make new friends at school? Yes? Here's some of my advice（建议）.

Don't be shy（害羞的）! Try to talk to all of your classmates. Smile and say, "Hello! What's your name?" If you didn't hear the name clearly, try, "Sorry, can you repeat（重复） that for me, please?" Then give your name and say, "Nice to meet you!" It's really as easy as that! It's important to get people's names right. If you get themwrong, they might feel sad!

____ Ask about school, sport, music, and more! As you listen, think of more questions to ask. So when your classmate stops talking, you can jump in and ask another question! But remember, you have to be a good listener before you can ask good questions.

I think that having a big family is a really good thing. I come from a small family. I only have one brother. He doesn't want to play with me，so I always like the idea of having a big family. I want to have more brothers and sisters.

I think a small family is better. If you are the only child in the family like me，you' ll get all your parents' love. They do everything for you. But if you live in a family of eight children，you have to share（分享） everything with the other seven children: your parents' love，your toys and even your clothes. 

It's seven o'clock. Jenny gets up at seven and puts on her clothes, then she has a delicious breakfast. After breakfast she makes her room tidy. Her mother usually does it for her, but she is doing that now. 

After morning lessons, Jenny has lunch at school. She eats with her best friends and they talk about all kinds of things. Stars are always their favourite topic (话题). 

In the afternoon it's time to play different sports, such as football, basketball, table tennis and so on. Jenny likes sports and she likes playing basketball best. She goes home at 4: 00 p. m. Her parents come back from work at 6:30 p. m. It takes them about half an hour to get home. Jenny does her homework first and then she listens to music or watches TV. 

Dinner time is about 7:30 p. m. Jenny helps her mother make dinner. After dinner, Jenny's father cleans the room. Jenny and her mother help him. Every evening, Jenny tells her parents interesting things at school. She tells them some interesting stories, too. She likes talking with her family. Her family always have a nice evening like that. 

 An international team of scientists says it has discovered two new"super-Earth" type planets about 100 light-years away, one of which may be suitable for life. 

 Unlike any of the planets in our solar system, the nearly 1, 600 known super-Earths are larger than Earth, but lighter than icy planets like Uranus and Neptune. 

 Researchers at Belgium's University of Liège said that they found another one while using Earth-based telescopes to check the existence(存在) of a different planet first discovered by a NASA satellite in the same solar system. 

NASA's satellite found planet LP 890-9b, which is about 30% larger than Earth and orbits its sun in just 2. 7 days. ULi ège researchers used their telescopes in Spain to take a closer look at the planet. That's when the stargazers(天文学家) discovered another planet, LP890-9c, which is 40% larger than Earth and takes 8. 5 days to orbit its sun. 

 Francisco Pozuelos, a researcher, said that the planet could be suitable to life though being a 3. 7 million miles from its sun. Earth, by comparison, is located over 93 million miles away from our sun. "Although this planet orbits very close to its star, at a distance about 10 times shorter than that of Mercury around our Sun, the amount of stellar irradiation(照射) it receives is still low, and could allow the presence of liquid water on the planet's surface, if it has enough air, " Pozuelos said. "This is because the star LP 890-9 is about 6. 5 times smaller than the Sun and has a surface temperature half that of our star. "

①Today, it is a big problem for young people to get fine jobs after they leave universities. There are different kinds of jobs in the world. But how should young people choose the right one? That often worries them. 

②"Finding a job" is not the same as"choosing a job". Many young people can't get right jobs. Here are a few steps to help you think about jobs which you might enjoy doing after you leave school or university. 

③First, it is important to know what kind of person you are, what special qualities you have and what you are interested in? There is a difference between an interest and a skill. If you like art and enjoy looking at pictures, that is an interest. But if you can draw a horse and it looks like a horse not a big dog, that is a skill. 

④Then ask yourself a question, "Of the following three skills— skill with people, skill with information and skill with things, which is my best skill?"

⑤After finding out your best skill, the next step is to study carefully. To find out as many different kinds of jobs as possible, go to the library and read books, magazines and newspapers for information. Ask your friends what they think of the work they do. 

⑥The last step is to trust your own ideas and your own thinking! It is your own life. Just find the job you really enjoy doing.
