Last weekend I went to Beijing. We went to the hotel {#blank#}1{#/blank#} taxi. During the taxi trip. the taxi driver told us many {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (interest) stories about the city. We were very happy and excited to hear them.

    When we {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (get) to the hotel, I couldn't find my mobile phone (手机).But the taxi driver got away. So I went to the police station {#blank#}4{#/blank#} help. There were three mobile {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (phone) in the police station. One of them {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (look) like mine. But it wasn't. Just at that time. the driver {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (come) to the police station and I saw him bringing a mobile phone with him. Ob. it was my mobile phone. I thanked him for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (return) it tome. I felt so {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (luck) to see my mobile phone again. After I went back to the hotel. I thought the people in Beijing were very {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (friend).

It's very important to keep (保持) safe at any time! Many students {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the US always take the school bus to school every day. Parents think that taking the school bus {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) very safe. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} sometimes it is also dangerous. Some

students were injured(受伤) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they didn't follow the school bus rules(规定). {#blank#}5{#/blank#} are the school bus rules?

●Arrive at the bus station {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (early).

●Wait for the bus at the bus station.

●{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (not)play around the bus station.

●Don't run here and there at the bus station.

●Don't walk {#blank#}8{#/blank#} fight on the bus when it is going.

●Don't get off the bus if it doesn't stop.

These rules are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (good) for students. Remember them and don't break (打破) {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they). So you can keep yourself safe.

On September 27th, Cui Chenxi, 13- year- old skateboarder(滑板运动员), became China's youngest gold medalist(奖牌得主) at the Qiantang Roller Sports Centre in Hangzhou. She {#blank#}1{#/blank#} gold by scoring 242.62 points. Cui said,"I always wanted to win gold. This match is different {#blank#}2{#/blank#} other matches, so I wanted to win this one." When the reporter asked if she was worried before the match, she shook {#blank#}3{#/blank#} head and said," My dad told me to stay relaxed, enjoy the match and show my skills. As long as I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} my best, I have no regrets."

Cui only took up skateboarding in 2020. In skateboarding, injuries(受伤) often happen. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} when talking about the pain and the difficulties, Cui said," When I started skateboarding, I{#blank#}6{#/blank#} it was great fun. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} , I found people got a lot of injuries while skateboarding. But that is where the spirit(精神) of skateboarding lies." Getting injured is just part of the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}, and she pushes through it and keep going on.

As the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} member of the team, Cui is popular with other young players. Most of people think that Cui is the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} of Team China. She is quite excellent. And she will stand together with other young players to get more medals for our country in the future.

School was out, and the Johnson family were getting ready to take their summer trip to Lake Horizon. Betsy and her brother Bruce were excited, but their parents were not.

"I wonder why Mom and Dad are not excited," Betsy said to Bruce. "I heard them talking last night. They said repairing (修补) the old cabin (小木屋) would need much money." said Bruce.

The next day, Bruce got up early. He said to Betsy, "It's time for us to do things for them. We can help paint the cabin. Then it won't look so bad, and we can save some money." Betsy thought it was great and they told their parents about the plan. "____" said Dad. "We can plant some flowers, too," said Mom.

That night, they bought some things they would need. The next morning, they left for the cabin early and arrived there before lunch. They painted the small kitchen first, then the bedrooms, and finally the living room. Then they planted some flowers in front of the cabin. Finally, the cabin looked so much better because of their two days' hard work.

Our parents always love us, do things for us but never complain (抱怨). When the time comes for us to help our parents, try our best.

 Jeremy Gilley was a young British film-maker. For one day he wanted to stop all the wars in the world.

 What did he do? In 2007, an organization Peace One Day (POD) {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(创建) by him. At first no one wanted to listen, but Gilley didn't give up. He travelled {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(国外) and went to war areas, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(包括) the Middle East. He made a short film about his idea and showed it to world leaders. Finally, he won a large {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(数量) of support from many famous people. In2001, he won the support of the UN. They decided to make 21# September an International Day of Peace. It was a big {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(胜利) for Jeremy. He also wanted {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(传播) his message to ordinary people all over the world. On his journey he met thousands of varied people. He showed them his film and gave talks. People were {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(去世) in war areas because it's too dangerous for doctors and nurses to go there. So in 2012 the actor Jude Law went to Afghanistan and organized one of {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(极大的) polio vaccination(脊髓灰质炎疫苗) activities in the world for Peace Day. As a result, nurses gave vaccinations to 1.4 million children.

{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(最近), thousands of projects have been planned to help people in war areas, to raise money and communicate the importance of peace. 100 million people are active on Peace Day in192 countries with health {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(照顾), peace walks, films and music events.

Lee loved tennis. He got a few old tennis balls and an old racquet(球拍)from his grandfather, who used to play tennis a long time ago.

Lee hoped that he would become an Olympies1 one day. 

However,  there was one 2 . Lee's family couldn't afford the tennis lessons, the white clothes or a new racquet and balls. Lee had tried playing with the other boys on the courts, but they had just 3 his old racquet and clothes. So Lee spent his time4 them play and then practising exactly what he had seen them do, against the wall at home.

The manager of the tennis club 5 Lee and offered him a job sweeping the tennis courts. Instead of getting paid. Lee was offered 6 tennis lessons. Through hard work, his tennis skills were improving so7 that he was invited to play in a competition, Lee won all his matches. A world-famous coach in the audience was so impressed that he offered Lee a 8 at his tennis school. There Lee would receive the best coaching possible.

Then came the day of Lee's first world competition. He played well but the other player was too good for Lee to9 . Finally, he came second. 

Lee didn't mind. He had come a long way from the boy who just stood and watched others playing. There was 10 time for winning in the future. For now, he was happy that he was on the road to the Olympics.
