When I just moved to Los Angeles(洛杉矶), I didn't have a car.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, but I wanted to prove(证明)them wrong.
I asked my neighbor, Mrs. White, to take me to the bus station in the center of the city, so I could try taking the bus home.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. When I got there, I went inside and got a bus timetable(时刻表). I looked at the map and worked out that I needed to take three buses to get home.

I didn't have any confidence(信心) in myself when I was young. That was because I was the strongest girl in my class but I had never been the{#blank#}1{#/blank#} kid among the classmates. But one thing changed me later.
It was the first day of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} new school and I didn't know anyone. In the math class, the teacher explained a couple of problems to us and showed us how to deal with the similar problems. After solving the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} problem, she asked us to solve a problem by ourselves and write our answers on the whiteboards(白板) she gave us. Then we were {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to hold up our boards so that the teacher could see the answers. It seemed that everybody had the same answer except me.
