It takes time to practice critical（批判性） thinking, but it's never too late to start. The following steps will help people to become critical thinkers.

We did a survey about "My Favorite TV Shows" last week. Here are the results. 

①What will you do if you see a cockroaeh(蟑螂) ? Quite a few people are very afraid of it, so they may shout for help or try to kill it. Next time you see it, you may need to think twice before killing it.

②There were cockroaches on the earth long ago, and many people believe that they will still be here long after all the people leave it. Cockroaches are small in size, and they are good at climbing and jumping. A cockroach can live for about a week without a head. These make them great helpers during the search and rescue missions(搜救任务).

③Alper heads up led a scientist team at North Carolina Stage University. "I joined the search and rescue missions in Turkey in 1999, "he said. "One of the most difficult problems was to find where the living people were. We needed to find them in a short time, but there was no useful way to help us at that time. "So Alper and his team had the idea of turning cockroaches into special robots.

④Scientists put a small sensor(传感器) and a smart camera on a cockroach's back. Cockroaches climb everywhere with them, With a sensor and the camera, cockroaches can tell people from other things, and then find where the missing people are. In this way, more people can be saved in time.

⑤All in all, the scientists hope these special cockroach robots will be used for more work over the next five years. "We never thought we would see the day, but here we are!"a scientist said.

The Flame Mountain (火焰山) is about 200 km away from Urumqi (乌鲁木齐) in Xinjiang. It is in a place with many high mountains around it. The mountain came into being millions of years ago when the earth was changing a lot. It is much hotter than nearby places. If you want to enjoy the feeling of a hot shower in summer, it's the right place to go!

On hot summer days, it can get hotter than 80℃. Try to cook eggs or cakes in the sand and they will be ready in a few minutes!

Does rain help make it cooler? People hardly see rain in 10 out of the 12 months in a year. Why? For most of the time, the raindrops dry in the hot air before they get to the ground. 

There aren't any plants on the top of the mountain, only red rocks (岩石). They make the whole mountain look red. In hot air and strong sunshine, the mountain looks like a burning flame. That's why the mountain is called The Flame Mountain.

This weekend is my 9th birthday. My mom books me a pony-riding (骑小马) party. The party lasts for 2 hours. It is from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, but Mom and I will get there half an hour earlier to set the table. We little kids can take turns to ride the ponies, but only ten kids can ride the ponies. I have so many friends that I have to think hard about whom to invite to the party. At the party, each of us can have a ten-minute ride. After each ride, there's a two-minute break. There are three ponies at the party, Dash, Poppy and Dotti, but only Dash and Poppy are for riding. We can brush Dotti's long white hair and give him some carrots, but we can't ride him. He's getting very old and can't carry us any more.

Mom gets lots of food, fruit and drinks for us. On the day of the party, the kids waiting for their tums can have something to eat and drink. There's a garden in the paddock (马场). Mom says the horse owner (主人) hides some small toys in different places in the garden. We can go to look for them. If we find them, we can take them home. How exciting! I can't wait to have the birthday party!
