    Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa， Italy. He was the oldest of five children in a worker's family. He enjoyed going to the sea when he was a young boy.

On August 3， 1492， he sailed toward the west from Palos， Spain with three ships.     Columbus didn't get to school very much， but he learned to read and write Spanish during his travels. He also taught himself Latin because all the geography books were written in Latin. He is remembered by all not only for the New World he discovered， but also for the way he led for other explorers.

    To me, music is food and water. I know this isn't right for everyone. Usually lots of people go to concerts or listen to music records. Maybe some of you don't do these, but music is everywhere in our life. For example, when you watch movies or TV plays, we will find them boring if there's no music.     Some people like to listen to the sound of the sea. Some enjoy listen to the singing of birds. Those sounds are some kind of music. So music has meaning for everyone. Of course, it has special meaning for people like me. We spend our lives playing or writing music.

    Make a plan. You should make a list of what you want to finish every week. The plan includes things you want to finish. You should know what the most important ones are, and try your best to do them first.

    Control your stress. No matter what kind of stress you have, try to keep cool. When you have a lot of things to do, too much stress may make you slow. Don't work all day without breaks.

    Focus on one thing at a time. Don't try to do many things at a time! You will lose your focus (注意力), and it will take you longer to finish your work.

    Just say "no". If you really don't have the time to help out, just say "no". You're only one person, and you can't save the world by yourself!

    Stop wasting time on the phone. While talking on the phone, keep your conversations short. In this way, you'll waste much less time.

    Relax. The most important thing is to take time to relax. Even if it's a 10-minute walk, get away from your work and get relaxed.

    Patrick doesn't like school. He thinks doing homework is too boring. He likes to play baseball and basketball after class.
