My father and I always had a bit of trouble in our relationship. It's not that we didn't love each other. It's just that we used to have 1 opinions. My dad is one of the most hard-working men I know, but I was a 2. I played sports as a kid, but 3 when I was making progress. Then I showed an   4 in music. My father got excited and 5 me a guitar when I was about eight. But I didn't like it until I was a teenager. During those teen years, I took up my guitar and 6 playing along.

Then I went to college. My father thought I should focus more on my 7 while I should have more fun playing music. I dreamed to be a musician. When I grew into a young man, I suddenly fell 8 ill one day and it was discovered that I had a terrible kidney(肾) disease. I had to accept treatments all my life, or get a transplant(移植).

    I felt like there was a heavy 9 on my shoulders. Life became hard for me. But I was lucky enough because of my loving parents who 10 me and took care of me. While trying to 11 just what to do with my life, my father got tested to see 12 he was the right man to give me his kidney. I tried to refuse, but he'd hear 13 of it. He saved my life at last.

    Two years ago, I 14 a band. He had always wanted to play in a band, but 15got the chance when he was young. It was one of the greatest gifts I could give to him.

    A man got a new car and he was very proud of it. One day, when he came back home, he saw his three-year-old son happily hitting the new car with a toy 1. He broke off the paint on the car. The man was so 2 that he ran to his son, took away his hammer (锤子) from him, and used the hammer to hit the boy's 3 as hard as he could for punishment. The poor boy cried 4 but his father didn't care at all.

    When the father calmed down, he took his son to the 5 as soon as he could. Although the doctor tried to save the broken bones, he had to 6 the fingers from both of the boy's hands in the end.

    When the boy 7 in the hospital and saw his hands, he innocently (天真地) said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your car." Then he asked, "But when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father felt very sad and regretted this very much.

    Think about this story when someone steps (踩) 8 your feet and you want to argue (争吵) with him. Think first before you 9 your patience with someone. Cars can be broken, 10 bones and hurt feelings often can't. So always remember: excusing is greater than argument and think before you act!

My father was a tennis player and my sister is a high jumper at school. But I'm not interested in sports. At the beginning of this term，my PE teacher suggested that I should take part in the women's marathon（马拉松比赛）. 

I was very surprised because I was never a good runner. In order to encourage me，he said if I took part in the race，I would get the highest mark for the term's PE class. So I decided to have a try. I prepared for the race very hard. I ran every day and had the special diet（膳食）in the morning before school. 

When the day of the marathon arrived，I was very nervous. All my family wished me good luck. They knew how hard I practiced. I was worried that I would be last. However，when I started to run，I thought only about the race. I did not remember when I passed the other runners. Suddenly I realized that I had come first. I was very happy when I won the race. From this，I learned that success always comes out of hard work. 

Shortly after I arrived in France, my phone was stolen. 

I was taking a trip by 1 . After knowing my phone was gone and I had missed the last train into the city, I 2 to spend the night at the train station. The workers there were very kind, assuring (向……保证) me their country was 3 . However, I still felt a little 4 and didn't want to take the bus in the dark. 

The next day, I arrived in Paris and reached the hotel at 8 am. At the front desk, a man 5 my story. Being 6 , he wanted to show me that Paris was a great city. He gave me his phone number after only 7 me for 20 minutes. He told me that 8 my visit to the Louvre the next day, I should call him so that he and his friend could 9 and show me around.

His friend spoke poor English, but was very 10 . They took me to the best cultural places in Paris. They acted as my guides 11 I had no map. They provided me with a lot of 12 that I would have never known if I had been on my own—or on my phone! 

They even took me to try traditional French food, like crepes, and didn't let me 13 anything. They were so kind and caring and we 14 became close friends. It's safe to say that the 15 of the trip was not so good, but I had the best experience in Paris and would love to go back!
