The balalaika, also called the "Russian guitar", is a traditional Russian musical instrument. It has a long neck, a wooden triangle-shaped body and strings. It is usually used to play Russian music by plucking* the strings with fingers or a pick.

Russians like the balalaika. The music played with it can be cheerful, as if the farmers were dancing happily to celebrate their harvest It can also be energetic, as if the workers were working hard to make their country richer and stronger. If a Russian moves to live or work abroad, he will probably take a balalaika with him. When he feels lonely and sad, he will play it to cheer himself up.

The balalaika was originally played by the poor in Russia. At that time, balalaikas were made by the players themselves. They were rough, simple and cheap with different numbers of strings, from two to even six. Later a Russian musician Vasily Vasil'yevich Andreev (1861-1918) improved the balalaka. He created a whole family of balalaikas of different sizes, all with three strings. The smallest balalaika is called Prima. It is 60-70cm long. The biggest, Contrabass, is almost 2metres high with a leg to sit on the floor. Andreev founded the first balalaika orchestra* in the world, mainly using balalaikas to perform. He gave concerts at the Universal Exposition in Paris in 1889, which was a great success.

You may think gymnastics is only for players in their teens and twenties. But Oksana Chusovitina has broken the unwritten rule of the sport. The 48-year-old woman made her return to the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. This is her fifth time to take part in the Asian Games. Also she is the only woman who has competed in eight Olympics. Chusovitina was born in Uzbekistan in 1975. At the age of 17,she attended her first Olympics in Barcelona,Spain. She won a gold medal in the team event,but this was just the beginning of her long story.

In 1999,she gave birth to her first son,Alisher. She thought the Sydney 2000 Games were meant to be the last one for her. But it was not to be. In 2002,Alisher suffered from a serious illness. In order to give Alisher the best possible treatment,the family moved to Germany. In 2003,she returned to international competitions to raise money for her son. Luckily,both her comeback and her son's treatment were successful.

After finishing a disappointing fifth at the London 2012 Games,Chusovitina told everybody that she decided to stop her career. But gymnastics was in her blood(血). "At night,I told everyone I had decided to stop my career. The next morning,I woke up and changed my mind,"she said. At the Tokyo 2020 Games,Chusovitina failed to reach the final event. Though she said once again that she would stop her career,she decided to return very soon.

This year,her return to the Hangzhou Asian Games added another touch of colour to her career. Although she missed a medal,she said she would continue to train and compete for the Olympics in Paris.

"I love gymnastics,and it brings me great joy. I'm just doing what I love. " Chusovitina said,"I can leave at any time. But I must do what I can today,so I won't regret it tomorrow. "

 通过下面短文,掌握其大意,然后按照句子结构的语法和上下文连贯的要求,从每题所给的四个选项中选出一个最佳答案。

Have you ever seen the film Forrest Gump (《阿甘正传》)? There's 1 famous saying in it: "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know2 " The surprise is part of the fun. It is not only from the chocolates you find in the box but also the process of opening the box. Now blind box toys have become very popular since they 3 to China. Blind box toys are hidden inside the same packaging. So, the buyers don't know what is in the boxes until they open 4 . The most popular toys in the blind boxes are cute characters that come 5 pop movies, comics and cartoons. There 6 a few special ones in many common boxes. "Maybe the next one is a gold toy. My wish is 7 another box." said one buyer. As a result, people will open more blind boxes and hope for a better result.

Besides expecting good results, people also enjoy the surprise and uncertain mysteries. "Opening a blind box like opening a birthday gift is an enjoyable surprise for our simple daily lives," said a 8 girl. "When I open these simple little boxes, I feel disappointed at one, but I feel 9 at another." A fear of the unknown is always a part of the box opening process, and waiting for the uncertainty is 10 part of the fun.

①The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is a modern art museum that is seen as one of the most famous art museums in the world. It was designed(设计) by Frank Gehry known for his special architectural designs.

②The government of Bilbao, a large Spanish city, paid for Gehry to design this museum. The government of Bilbao thought that Gehry's building would bring many visitors to Bilbao and can help the economy(经济) improve. It turns out that the government of Bilbao made a very good decision. When the Guggenheim Museum first opened, a celebration was held. Even Spain's Queen and King attended____this celebration. Right after Gehry's building was open to the public, the economy improved.

③Why has this museum been such a popular place for tourists? One reason is that Gehry's building design is different. Before Gehry had designed the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, most art museums looked same. For example, many of these art museums had columns(柱) and were built out of stone.

④The other reason is that Gehry's museum did not look like traditional art museums. Instead of building his museum with stone, he used titanium(钛). Inside of the museum, there are different art exhibitions. The main source(来源) of light for these exhibitions comes from a large window on the top of the museum. This window is called a skylight. It looks like a flower. Would you like to visit the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao?
