Have you heard of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Do you know who wrote it?

Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was a(n) 1 English writer, seen as another Shakespeare in Children's Books and the one who was best at telling stories in the until he died world. He had written 19 children's books 2 he died at the age of 74. Over 200 million copies of his books have been sold so far. 

At the age of 13, he was sent to a boarding school. There, the boys at the school. There, the boys at the school were sometimes asked to be chocolate testers for a famous chocolate company and this experience later3 him to create the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He also put his 4 experiences into the book. Once he was terribly5 by the headmaster for putting a dead mouse into a teacher's bottle of gobstoppers(大块圆硬糖). This story tells of the importance of being honest and selfless. It also reminds us to 6 our dreams in the face of difficulty and failure. 

Roald Dahl had a great talent for seeing the world through 7 eyes. He liked encouraging children to read. He believed that children should be8 with a book, not bored. Books shouldn't be boring. 9 , they should be funny, exciting and wonderful. And learning to be a10 gives children a wonderful advantage. 

 Alice is a 6- year- old girl. She likes drawing(画画) very much and she draws every day.

 One day, after the rain(雨), she goes out(出去) with her father and her dog Coco." Wow, what's that?" she asks.

" It's a rainbow. How many colors can you see, my dear?" asks her father.

" Er… one, two, three… seven. Seven colors. It looks so nice."

 Then they go home."I want to draw a rainbow, Dad, but I don't have orange , green or purple," Alice says to her father.

" That's easy. You know what? We have the three colors. Let me help you. Mix(混合) red and yellow, and we can get orange. Mix yellow and blue, and we can get green. Blue and red can make purple."

" Wow, that's interesting! I have seven colors now. I can draw a rainbow. Thanks, Dad!" Alice draws a great rainbow. She is so happy!

Judie's class was studying Chinese culture. One day, her teacher went into the classroom 1 some kites. He told them that kites 2 in China more than 2, 000 years ago. At the end of the class, he said, "The Chinese make kites that mean something important to them. I expect each of you 3 a kite that means something important to you. You will have a 4 understanding of kites than before. "

Judie decided to ask her dad for help as it was 5 first time to make a kite. 

"What do you think of when your see a kite?" her dad asked. 

Judie thought for a moment and 6 , "Butterflies. "

Judie's dad agreed that it would be a good idea to make a butterfly kite. They made a cross with some wood sticks, 7 then Judie painted a butterfly on a piece of white paper. Next they stuck the paper on the cross. Finally they tied a long tail to the bottom. 

The next morning, they took 8 kite to the park and tested it. "Wow!" she cried proudly. "9 high my butterfly flies!"

"Judie, can you tell me 10 butterflies?" asked her dad. 

Judie replied, "To me, butterflies mean beauty and freedom!"

Wonderful Park has finally reopened after nearly three months of repair! Since my sister Julia's birthday is coming, yesterday my parents took us to the park to have some fun. Julia was very excited as she had never been to Wonderful Park before.

 We arrived at the park early in the morning. While we were buying tickets at the ticket office, Julia was told that she could enjoy free admission during her birthday month. She could also get some pins and stickers for free. Julia was over the moon with her birthday presents. After buying our tickets, Julia wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. However, Mum suggested going to the King's Theatre first as a musical was about to begin.

 We were attracted by the delicious smell of popcorn while we were on the way to the King's Theatre. We bought two bags of chocolate popcorn and it tasted good. Before we entered the theatre, there were two cartoon characters standing at the entrance. They were lovable so Julia and I took some photos with them. The show began at ten forty-five. Though I am not a big fan of musicals, it was really great. All the performers sang and danced well. There was a huge round of applause when the show ended. Then, we went to the ride. It was the last stop and also the most enjoyable part of our trip.

 Here are the photos we took. The first one shows the chocolate popcorn. It was yummy! Next are the photos we took at the entrance of the King's Theatre. The cartoon characters are giving me and Julia a big hug! Here comes the photo that I like best. We took this after we rode on the Ferris wheel. Dad is putting his arm around Mum's shoulders. Julia is making a V sign with her fingers and I am making a silly face. It is a nice family photo. We all look forward to visiting the park again!
