Once there was a boy named Jimmy. He started drawing when he was three years old, and when he was five he was already very     1 at it. He drew many beautiful and interesting pictures, and many people 2 his pictures. They thought this boy was going to be 3 when he was a little older, and then they were going to 4 these pictures for a lot of money.

    Jimmy's pictures were quite different from other 5, because he never drew on all of the paper. He drew on 6 of it, and the other half was always 7.

    “That's very 8,” everybody said. “No other people have ever done that before”.

    One day, somebody asked him, “Please 9 me, Jimmy. Why do you draw on the bottom (底部) half of your pictures, but not on the top half.”

    “Because I'm small,” Jimmy said, “and my brushes can't 10 very high.”

    "Tumbling(翻跟头) time!" I called out. My group of children stood up before the blue mats (垫子). Megan walked 1 into the back of the line (队伍). She didn't talk with anyone. The other children had learned tumbling moves months ago, 2  Megan was still working on them.

    One day before class, Megan's father told me, "I'm thinking about taking Megan out of class." " 3 ?" I asked. He said, "She isn't doing as well as the other children. I don't want her to hold them back (妨碍进展)."

    "I don't think you're right," I said. "Megan 4 this class, maybe more than the other children. I didn't start out as a winner. I started to practice tumbling at age 8, just like Megan. When I look at Megan, I see 5 . she works hard. Sir, your daughter may 6 win a competition, but I think there's something more 7 than becoming a winner. That is her self-respect (自尊). I think if she keeps 8 she can do the tumbling moves well."

    As I said these words, Megan looked at me. 9 eyes were full of tears. Her father also said in tears, "Thank you so much." He turned to Megan and said, "Honey, it's time for your 10 . I'm sure you can do pretty well."

    Later, Megan did really well in tumbling. More importantly, she never stood at the back again.

The Beets were a new couple (夫妇). The things in their rooms, such as the television, the computer, the fridge, furniture and so on, were all left by their parents. They only paid some money for their food and clothes. But they tried their best to save money. If they had something important to tell their friends, they always visited them instead of calling them.

One day, it was a quarter past nine. Mr. Beet didn't come back. His wife was a little worried. The supper was cold and she had waited for two hours. She was sitting by the table in the dark room.

Suddenly the woman heard someone coming upstairs. It was her husband's step. She hurried to open the door. In the dark she could hear his deep breathing (呼吸). As soon as he sat down, she turned on the light and found he looked very tired.

"Why do you come back so late, dear?" asked the woman. "Haven't you caught a bus?"

"Yes, but I didn't take it."

"Why not?"

"I ran after it so that I saved two dollars this evening."

"That's great!" the woman said happily. "Run after a taxi next time and you'll save both more time and money."

 It's Tuesday today. The weather is warm and sunny. We have three classes in the afternoon. After school, there are some activities for us. Now, we are doing different things.

 Look! The boy in a blue T- shirt and a yellow hat is Romeo、 He has short black hair and he is a little heavy. He is flying a model plane happily on the grass. Under the tree, there is a girl with a book. She is my best friend, Amy、 She has big round eyes and curly hair. She likes reading very much. She thinks reading can bring her good luck. Who's the boy playing soccer? Oh, he is Enzo. He is tall and thin. He is good at soccer and he is on the school team. Some girls are singing beautifully near the pool、 Even(甚至) the birds are enjoying their songs, too.

One afternoon，I went into {#blank#}1{#/blank#} art museum while waiting for my husband. I hoped to enjoy the works of art {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (quiet). 

A young couple walked in front of me and talked {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the paintings between themselves all the time. The lady did almost all the talking，but the man kept listening to her. I thought the man was very patient {#blank#}4{#/blank#} nobody would like to be bothered(打扰) while enjoying the paintings. 

I met them several {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(time) as I moved through the different rooms of the art museum. Each time I heard her talking，I moved away quickly. 

I {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(pay)for some gifts at the museum shop when the couple walked slowly to the exit(出口). Before they left，the man took out a cane(拐杖). Then he tapped(轻敲) his way. 

"He is a brave man，" the worker of the shop said. He decided not {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (change) his life after his eyes got hurt. Though he is blind now，he never gives {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. He and his wife come here whenever there is a new art show. "

"But what can he get out of the art？ He can't see！" I asked. "You are wrong. He sees a lot， {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (much) than you and I do. " The worker said，"His wife describes each painting so he can see it in his mind. "

I fell {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (silence). Then I realised that I learnt something about patience, courage and love that day. 

"Stay-at home" Astronaut's Dream

Deng Qingming is a Chinese astronaut. He finally entered Tiangong Space Station by Shenzhou-15 in November, 2022 after 25 years' hard work. He is working with his teammates to carry out {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (task) in space. 

The hard-working student {#blank#}2{#/blank#}was born in a poor village has become an astronaut finally. When he was young, he used every minute {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (study) in his daily life. As a hard-working student, Deng joined the PLA Air Force in June 1984 and started to train {#blank#}4{#/blank#}a pilot(飞行员) at a flight college in Hebei Province. At the age of 31, Deng {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (choose) as one of the 14 first members of the PLA Astronaut Division. Deng kept {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (train) hard for a chance to fly into space until he had kidney stones(肾结石) in 2013. It was serious for astronauts because the standard for their health is high. He had to stop training to have operations. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} he suffered from the illness, he continued working for his dream. Whatever happened to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (he), he never gave up. 

In 2022, Deng's dream finally came true. At the time, he was 56 years old and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}last person of China's first astronauts to be sent into space. He had fought for his space dream all the time. He is a hero and so far, his story {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (influence) many Chinese people.
