Have you ever dreamed about sending a letter to yourself or your friends in the future? While express mail(快递) is a fast way to send your letters, there is another type of mail appearing in China as a new business—future mail.

     “The letter should be sent next Mother's Day and not a day earlier!” Lin Xiaofan, acollege student in Shanghai, tells one of the companies offering the service.

Lin Xiao fan wrote the letter to her mother nearly a year earlier to express her love to hermother for next Mother's Day.

“Offering thisservice makes people slow down and lets them understand the meaning of ‘time'in another way,” said Zheng Zhimin, manager at a “future mail” company. Zheng thinks “future mail” letters help remind us of care, friendship and love.

      While “futuremail” is becoming more and more popular, some people are wondering what will happen if the postal address changes or if the company goes broken before theletters arrive.

     Zheng said customers are glad to sign a contract(签订合同) to make sure that they canbe compensated if their letters are lost or damaged.

    Most of the customers are college students and young white-collar(白领) workers. Psychologists (心理学家) said that young Chinese might have a new way to express their feelings through this service. Most peopleput their hopes and wishes in the letter so that they can experience the connection(联系) between the past and the present when they receive theletter.

Everybody dreams. But only some people remember their dreams. Our dreams often include all the senses —- smells, sounds, sights, tastes and things we touch .Sometimes we dream the same dream over and over again.

    Early in the twentieth century, two famous scientists developed their personal ideas about dreams. Austrian psychiatrist (奥地利心理学家) Sigmund Freud wrote a book called "The Interpretation (诠释) of Dreams" in 1900. Freud believed people often dream about things they want but can't have. Swiss (瑞士) psychiatrist Carl Jung worked closely with Freud for several years, but he believed dreams provide solutions to problems we face when we are awake.

    Other researchers are studying how dreaming helps our bodies work with problems and very sad emotions (感情). Robert Stickgold is a professor of psychiatry (心理学教授) at Harvard University in Massachusetts. He says that when we dream, the brain is trying to make sense of the world. He does not agree with Sigmund Freud that dreaming is the way we express our hidden feelings and wishes.

    Scientists believe it is important to keep researching dreams. Doctor Stickgold says it's more than one hundred years since Sigmund Freud wrote his important book about dreaming. Yet there is still no agreement on exactly how the brain works when we are dreaming or why we dream.

On Saturday morning, Mrs. Brown asks Gina to study, but Gina says, "It's boring (无聊的) and difficult to study. " Mrs. Brown asks Gina what she thinks is interesting and easy.

Gina says, "Mom, you only do housework at home. I want to live like you. "

"Oh, you think so?" Mrs. Brown says. "All right. You can live like me. " Then she asks Gina to make breakfast with bread, milk and eggs. It's easy for Gina. After breakfast, Mrs. Brown asks Gina to tidy up (整理) the room. About 11:00, Gina thinks, "Oh, it's not easy. " At about 12:00, Mrs. Brown asks Gina to make chicken, rice and salad for lunch. After lunch, Gina wants to watch TV. But Mrs. Brown asks her to wash shoes. At about 3:30 in the afternoon, Gina says to Mrs. Brown, "Mom, can you help me wash them?"

"Oh, I can't. You say you want to live like me. But you know, no one helps me with housework, " says Mrs. Brown.

"OK, Mom. It's boring to do housework. And it's not easy. Now, I want to study my subjects. "

There is a very important place in my life. That is my grandpa's 1 . My grandpa lives in a small village (村庄). The village is far 2 the city. It is at the foot of a hill (小山)with all kinds of flowers, 3 it's very beautiful. There are many trees on the hill, too. The air in the village is very fresh.  There are many 4 , at my age in the village. When I go to my grandpa's home in the summer holiday. I always play with 5 . We often play football, sing and dance. The children are very 6 to me and I'm happy to be with them. Sometimes they come to my grandpa's home to visit me. We sit under a big tree in front of my grandpa's house to 7 my grandpa's interesting stories. Sometimes I take my computer with me to my grandpa's home. I teach them how to use the computer. They all like to watch soccer games on the 8 with me. We become very good friends soon. Now many workers are building(修建) a wide road through the 9 . The traffic will be very easy. I'm going to spend (花费) my summer holidays in my grandpa's home every year because I 10 my grandpa and my good friends. I also miss my grandpa's house very much. 

My favourite inventor is Wang Xuan. As we all know, Wang Xuan was one of the most famous computer scientists and inventors. He invented the technology for printing Chinese characters. As a result, he is known as "The Father of the Chinese Language Laser Typesetting (激光排版)". 

Since there is a big difference between Chinese and English writing systems (系统), laser typesetting for the Chinese language was a serious problem for scientists all over the world. For this reason, Wang Xuan decided to try to come up with a solution (解决办法). In 1975, he began researching laser typesetting and electronic publishing (电子出版) systems for Chinese. He was not afraid to try new technology, and although he didn't have success all the time, he never gave up. He is believed to be the second most important developer in printing Chinese after Bi Sheng. Now, Wang Xuan's amazing invention is used all over the world, and it has been especially helpful to the Chinese newspaper publishing industry. 

Wang Xuan was not only a great modern scientist but also a great role model for many young people. We middle school students should learn from him. His life story teaches us that a person should follow his own dream and try his best to make it come true. 

Mike's parents were excitedly planning their wedding anniversary celebration. They two planned to go to their favorite restaurant. So they asked their son Mike to 1 his little brother, Leo.

"I really want to 2 Danny's party that day, but I also want to help you out," he said,"I don't know what to do." His parents listened and replied 3 ," Ever since Leo 4 our family, we have taken good care of both of you. This time, we hope you can do what a(n) 5 brother should do."

 After his parents left, he 8 the door and made sure everything was safe. Then, he played video games and watched movies with Leo. To his 9 , he was a lot happier than he thought. He enjoyed spending time with his brother.

 When their parents returned home, they were very 10 with both of their sons. Mike was sure that he did something good to make a difference to his family.
