Every Sunday morning，I take a jog（慢跑）around a park near my home. There＇s a lake in one corner of the1 . Each time I jog by this lake, I see the2 woman sitting by the lake with a small metal cage（金属笼）beside3 . 

Last Sunday，my curiosity（好奇心）got the better of me，4 I stopped jogging and walked over to her. As I went5 ,I found that inside the metal cage were three turtles, slowly walking around.  She had a fourth turtle in her lap（大腿）that she was6 brushing. 

"Hello,why are you always sitting here?"I said. "And I'd love to know7 you're doing with these turtles. "

She smiled and replied， ＂T＇m 8 their shells（龟壳）. Anything on a turtle＇s shell， like algae or scum, stops the turtle from swimming. It is also9 for the shell over time. It's my own way of making a10 . 

"Wow! That's really nice of you! But there are11 living in lakes all around the world. And hardly any of these turtles have people kind enough like you to12 them. So how exactly are you13 that you can make a change?" I questioned. 

The old woman14 at the turtle in her lap, brushed the last piece of algae from its shell. She then15 warmly and said, "Sweetie, if this little one could talk, he'd tell you I just changed his whole world. "

A kid's business

Thirteen-year-old Porter Schapiro began baking(烘焙) at a young age. In 2020, he even started his own business.

"Since I was 6 years old, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (love) baking," said Porter. "I love making carrot cake. I want to be a baker {#blank#}2{#/blank#} have my own store when I grow up."

Porter's dad's best friend, Mark Bistline, loved to eat his carrot cake. When he was sick in hospital, Porter tried to help in any way possible, including baking him his favorite dessert. One of Mark's {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (nurse) tried a piece of the cake and told Porter that he should sell it. Then Porter started a business called Nothing But Carrot Cake. He first made around 200 cakes. He sold them to his friends at school and their family, his neighbors, and teachers.

Porter's older brother made a logo(标志) for his business and many people loved it. Porter made a lot of money. However, he gave away the money instead {#blank#}4{#/blank#} keeping it. He was proud of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (he).

Many months went by and one day, Porter's dad {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (find) a post by Granny Squibb's Organic Iced Tea for kids to draw their own flavor(口味). He printed it out for his son, and Porter created "Porter's Peach". His dad shared the picture online. It interested the owners of the company who heard about Porter behind Nothing But Carrot Cake. They wanted {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (do) something meaningful like him, so they reached out to him.

Porter, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} young boy, was in surprise when knowing the company would like to have their next flavor after him. "Porter's Peach" came out in June, 2022. The label(标签) on the bottle, shown on the back, has a picture of Porter's drawing and idea. It also has a short description(描述) of him and his business.

"It's so cool now when I go into stores and see ‘Porter's Peach' named after me," Porter said. "I feel {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (real) happy. And I think I'm the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (lucky) boy in the world."

I arrived in Penang in Malaysia this morning with my {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and hot, so we {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to go to the beach near our hotel. My sister and I tried paragliding. I felt like I was a bird. It was so exciting! For lunch, we had something very {#blank#}4{#/blank#}— Malaysian yellow noodles They were delicious! In the afternoon, we {#blank#}5{#/blank#} bicycles to Georgetown. There {#blank#}6{#/blank#}a lot of new buildings now, but many of the old buildings are still there. In Weld Quay, a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} old place in Georgetown, we{#blank#}8{#/blank#} the houses of the Chinese traders from 100 years ago. I{#blank#}9{#/blank#} what life was like here in the past. I really enjoyed {#blank#}10{#/blank#} around the town. 

Pinocchio had a fever. The Fairy took a glass of water with medicine and said lovingly to Pinocchio, "Drink this, and you'll be up and well. "

At that moment the door of the room flew open and came in four Rabbits as black as ink， carrying a small black coffin（棺材）on their shoulders.

After that， the Fairy added，"Pinocchio，tell me how you were in the hands of the robbers（盗贼）last time. "

"I had five gold pieces to give to my Father, but on the way I met two robbers. They tied my neck with a rope and hung me to a tree. " said Pinocchio. 

"Where are the gold pieces now?" the Fairy asked. 

"I lost them, " answered Pinocchio. As he spoke, his nose became at least two inches longer. 

"And where did you lose them?"

"In the wood nearby. " At this second lie his nose grew a few more inches. 

"If you lost them in the nearby wood, " said the Fairy, "we'll look for them and find them. "

"Ah, now I remember, " replied Pinocchio, "I did not lose the gold pieces, but I swallowed them. "

At this third lie, his nose became longer than ever. The Fairy sat looking at him and laughing. 

"Why do you laugh?" Pinocchio asked her, worried now at the sight of his growing nose. 

"I am laughing at your lies. "

"How do you know I am lying?"

"Lies, my boy, are known in a moment. There are two kinds of lies, lies with short legs and lies with long noses. Yours, just now, happen to have long noses. "
