Scientists have always wanted to know more about the universe and they are working hard.

 {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(year) ago they knew many things about the moon.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}they knew how big it is and how far it is from the earth, they wanted to know more about it. They thought sending people to the moon was the best way.

The moon is about 384,000 kilometres away  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the earth. A plane cannot fly to the moon  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}the air is too thin at high altitude(海拔) to support the plane.

Then the scientists tried  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(they)best to invent something that can fly even when there is no air. That is a rocket(火箭).

How does a rocket fly? There is gas(气体)in the rocket. When  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}gas is made very hot inside the rocket, it will rush out of the end of the rocket, so it can make the rocket fly up  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(quick) into the sky.

Rockets can fly into space, Rockets with people in them  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(be) to the moon already. Several rockets without people in them have flown to another planet much  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(far) than to the moon. One day rockets may be able  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(go) to any place in space. Let's hope for the coming of that day.

Summer is coming and the weather is very hot. Many children want to go swimming. It's fun but dangerous at the same time. What do you need to do? Here are some good ideas.

Learn to swim first. Children over 5 years old need to take swimming lessons. You can learn some useful skills(必备技能) from the swimming lessons. These skills can save your life when you are in danger.

Keep away from some places with danger. Many children like going swimming in the rivers or the sea. But some of these places are very dangerous and aren't suitable for swimming. So don't swim in these places.

Make sure there is at least (至少) a partner around you. You can swim with your parents or your friends. And you should make sure that the partner is good at swimming and can keep you safe (安全的).

Always wear life jackets. When you are in the water or whenever you are near the water, don't forget to wear life jackets.

Autumn is a good season to do sports, because in summer it is too hot. But what you feel is quite dif-ferent from what your body feels. Your body works more slowly, so it is easy for you to be hurt(伤害)when doing sports. Here is some advice.

Drink water. It is often very dry in autumn and your body loses water easily. So it is good to drink500mlof water two hours before you exercise. But be careful you cannot drink water as soon as(一旦)you finish your exercise. Just do it about 15 minutes after that.

Warm up your body. Before you do any sport, remember to do some warming-up activities such as walking or morning exercises to get your body ready for the sport.

Have outdoor activities. It is cool outside your door and the air is much better. So outdoor activities like climbing the hills, riding the bike and running or jogging are much fun. These can help you lose more fat, get you relaxed(放松) and help you work well.

Do not eat too much after the sport. If you cannot control your mouth, it is better not to do any sport. You can have some fruit or vegetables if you really want to eat something.

Although Sally is a robot, it seems that she could do a better job than a human helper.
