What can one dollar help us with? Believe it or not, an 18-year-old American girl in Florida, got a lot of money with only one dollar.
Not long ago, the girl named Daniela Leon Ruz used one dollar to buy a lottery ticket (彩票) called ¥500 A Week For Life. Usually in this game the odds (可能性) of winning the top prize are one-in-six million. But to her surprise, she was lucky to win such a top prize just after buying the lottery once. She spent only one dollar!
However, she didn't take the whole prize at a time. She chose to take ¥26000 each year. It was an advisable idea and some lottery experts thought this way would help her get a better use of the money.
What will Daniela do with the money? Maybe she'll follow another girl named Rosa Dominguez from California who ever won the prize twice in a month and buy some more lottery tickets. Or she might use the money to travel around the world or do something interesting. Anyway, she must be happy and excited about all her plans!

Dear Maddy, I am a normal student. I am not good enough {#blank#}1{#/blank#}teachers to like me and for classmates to look up to me, and not bad enough to attract teachers' attention. I sometimes feel like no one cares about me. What do you think of this? Bing Dear Bing, I know how you feel! I wanted to get into "{#blank#}2{#/blank#}most talented English class" at my high school. The teacher told me that my work was always "good", but other students' work was "excellent", so I didn't get in. I felt sad about it then, but it didn't upset me later on. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}you leave school and go into the big world, you'll find {#blank#}4{#/blank#}being excellent at school isn't that important. The most important thing is working hard and doing what you love. We are all excellent {#blank#}5{#/blank#}our own ways. So focus on what makes you special, not what makes others special! Maddy |
