黑龙江省哈尔滨市南岗区2020年九年级英语中考二模试卷

根据短文内容判断正、误。

Last weekend, I took Lucy to a park, where she discovered a track (小路) with large bumps (凸块) and sharp turns. At first, I thought Lucy was able to ride her bike along the track, but she quickly found that her bike was too low to the ground and kept getting stuck on top of the bumps.

Lucy looked at me with fear because she was still a biking newbie (新手). I tried to encourage her too, but really, I was thinking—this is going to be terrible. Not because I thought she would get hurt. More because I thought she wouldn't be able to pick up enough speed to balance, then get really discouraged, and give up quickly. I imagined her throwing her bicycle to the ground and then crying all the way home.

But I was only half right. Lucy did have a lot of trouble riding the bike. She couldn't find her balance. She fell many times. At one point, she almost started crying because other younger kids were getting angry that she was slowing everyone else down. But she did not give up. She kept picking herself up and trying again. She even took the bike off the track and into the main park in order to practice pushing off and picking up speed on a flat (平坦的) ground. When she felt more confident, she came back. Then she did it over and over again until she finally reached her goal of going around the whole track without falling once. Then she didn't want to leave, and everyone was cheering her on.

This was not a day that ended terribly. It was a day when Lucy learned that holding-on spirit pays off.

(1)、Last weekend Lucy was taken to the park in order to find her speed too slow.
(2)、Lucy gave up when younger kids were getting angry because she was slowing everyone else down.
(3)、Lucy took the bike into the main park in order to be cheered on by everyone.
(4)、Finally Lucy rode her bike around the whole track without falling once.
(5)、From this passage, we can know that holding-on spirit really works.

You want to know about my stay in the UK, right? Well, to tell you the truth, it is really 1 fantastic experience to study here. I came to Woodpark School in London two months ago. Since then, I 2 in this school. I find that school life in the UK is very different from that in China.

In China, the first lesson begins at about eight o' clock and there are 3 lessons a day. The first lesson in the UK begins an hour 4 than that in China. Before the first lesson, students all wait in a special classroom. Then a teacher calls the roll(点名) to check if 5 has arrived on time. After that, students change classrooms. Everybody has his or her own course schedule. They go to different classrooms for different lessons instead of 6 in the same classroom. For example, if one's first lesson is Maths, he or she should go to the classroom for Maths.

Besides languages, Science, art, British students learn many 7 courses such as cooking and gardening at school. The boy in my host family once cooked Chinese soup for me. It really surprised me because it tasted as 8 as what my mum cooked.

How time flies! I have been in the UK 9 two months. I will study here fo another month. I am sure I 10 find out more differences in the future. Believe me!

Su Shi, also known as Su Dongpo, was an outstanding Chinese poet ( 政治家), who lived during the Song Dynasty from 1037 to 1101.

Su Shi was born into a well﹣known family in Meishan, Sichuan province. His father and brother were both great poets. Su Shi showed great talent from a young age and was known for his skills in handwriting and painting. At the age of 20, Su Shi successfully passed the imperial ( 科 举 ), Su held a number of different government positions across China. However, his different opinions often got him into trouble because of disagreements at court, he was exiled (流放) three times. In 1079, Su Shi was even sent to prison. Although he got out of prison at last, Su Shi's literary(文学) talent continued to shine, and he produced a great number of' poetic works during his lifetime. In 1080, he found peace in nature and produced some of his best works. The famous poem, "Red Cliff", was one of them. Su Shi's talent was beyond poetry, as he was also a great prose writer. His article "On the Love of the Lotus" shows his love for the beauty of the flower. In addition, his collection of short stories shows his humour and wisdom.

It was not only in the literary field that Su Shi was highly praised. As an official, he won the love and support of the people. During his services, he did a lot for the people. In 1077, he protected the city from a terrible flood. The people in Xuzhou were thankful to him and gave him some food as presents.

Although Su Shi's life was filled with both achievements and troubles, he is remembered as one of the greatest people in Chinese history, and his creative talents and strong spirit continue to influence and guide people around China.

 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。

A horse fair is an interesting place. There is always a lot to see. There are young horses from the country, little Welsh ponies, like Merry legs, and many beautiful horses too. But there are also a lot of poor, thin horses, worn out from hard work. I was very sad to see them.

At the horse fair there was a man with a gentle voice and kind grey eyes. He offered twenty-three pounds for me, but he was refused, then he walked away. Later, a man with a very loud voice came. I was  he was going to buy me, but luckily, he walked off. Then the grey-eyed man came back again and said, "I' ll give twenty-four for him. "

"Done, " said the salesman. "He' s a quality horse and if you want him for cab work, he' s a bargain. "

Half an hour later, we set off for London until we came to that great city. There were streets to the right, and streets to the left. We went into one of the small streets, and then into a very narrow street, with small and old houses on one side, and stables(马厩) on the other.

My new owner stopped at a house and whistled. The door opened, and a young woman, a little girl and boy, came out.

 They all looked at me.

"Is he gentle, father?"

"Yes, Dolly, as gentle as a kitten. You can pat him. "

Dolly, the little girl, patted my shoulder without fear. It felt so good! They led me into a clean stable, with plenty of dry straw. After a delicious meal, I lay down to sleep and think"I'm going to be very happy here. "
