    In Australia there is a famous island called Fraser Island. A great many visitors come here for holidays every year. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ? The reason is that it is special. In fact, it is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} sand island in the world. The island that is about 200 kilometers long and 240 kilometers wide is completely made of sand.  

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the island is a popular place of interest, there is no airport on the island. The long beach along the east coast works as the airport. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} arrive and leave from here.

    On the island there are sand hills {#blank#}5{#/blank#} any plants, but there are forests in which many kinds of birds and animals live. There are old trees, beautiful flowers and over a hundred lakes in {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, too.

    Every year, visitors come to enjoy the island's natural beauty while getting some experience of living in the wild.  People like camping and hiking there. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} , visitors have caused many problems. Animals were killed for food and this made them in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} of extinction(灭绝) They threw rubbish {#blank#}9{#/blank#} , and the lakes were seriously polluted.  

    So it is time to protect the environment of the island. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} have been set up. For example, visitors are not allowed to use motorboats (摩托艇)or go fishing in the lakes, and they mustn't leave any rubbish.

①Embarrassment(尴尬的事情) is just a fact of life. I had such an embarrassing moment(时刻) in Grade 9.

②One Friday, I got the chance to play a basketball game. Although I wasn't a very good player, we weren't playing against the best opponents(对手), either. I felt pretty good as we began to warm up. Then we gathered at the sports hall, waiting for the referee(裁判员) to call out each player. Then it was our turn and I would be the fifth. One by one, my teammates ran out. I waited. "Number 52, Murphy." "Here," I replied. I ran out quickly. Then my eyes fell on the orange and black mascot (吉祥物). As I reached out to touch it, I fell down. What made me feel embarrassed was that my team began laughing instead of helping me out. To my embarrassment, one of our opponents offered me a hand. I took it. I can't remember how I played the game that day.

③In the following days, I always thought of the tumble which caused my embarrassing moment. Every time I thought back to the moment, I felt much worse than last time.

④Today, when one of my old classmates brings it up, it doesn't hurt. In fact, the moment hurt more than now because I didn't want others to remember me for something so silly(愚蠢的). To be honest, now I'm glad it happened — it's funny and it still makes people laugh. One embarrassing moment doesn't make much difference to a person's life. Probably it can make for a good story later in life.

Yuju Opera, also called Henan Bangzi, is one of the most popular local operas all over the country.

Its earliest written record can be dated back more than 200 years. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the opera became widely spread across Henan Province. After 1949, it experienced rapid growth. At first, small performances were held in tea houses in the city of Kaifeng. Then it spread not only in the villages and cities of Henan Province but also all over the country. It became the third most popular style of Chinese opera in the country, just behind Peking Opera and Yue Opera.

Yuju Opera is well received by people because it is full of local flavor (风味) of life. At the beginning, it was loved by its simple folk stories and powerful arias (唱腔), without the use of make-up, costumes, or even instruments. As the art spread to other cities, new styles began to develop. Nowadays Yuju Opera is generally divided into four different styles: Xiangfu, Yudong, Yuxi, and Shahe.

There are over 600 pieces of Yuju Opera. The most popular of which are The Command MuGuiying and HuaMulan. While The Command MuGuiying is a folk tale that is not well-known outside of China, the story of Hua Mulan became the classic Disney film Mulan. It tells the tale of a young woman. She defies tradition and takes her elderly father's place in the army by dressing herself as a man. After 12 years of war, she is honored for her service and is able to return home. Mulan was the brave warrior (战士)!

With the popularity of Liyuan Spring and other programs, Yuju Opera also shows its new power and catches more young people's eyes.

It is Sunday today. Lily and Wei Fang get up early(提早). After breakfast, they go{#blank#}1{#/blank#} in the clothes shop. There are some new clothes in the shop. Lily {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a red coat. It is nice. Wei Fang tries {#blank#}3{#/blank#} some clothes, they are all too big. So she doesn't buy {#blank#}4{#/blank#} clothes. But she buys a pair of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for her mother. Her mother is very happy.
