Once there was a rich man. He had a servant (仆人). He and the servant loved wine(酒) and good food very much. Each time the rich man left his home, the servant drank the wine and ate up the nice food in the house. The rich man wanted to catch his servant doing that.

    One morning,when he left home,he said to the servant,“ Here are two bottles of poison (毒药)and some nice food in the house. You must take care of them.” Then he went out.

    The servant knew the rich man joked（开玩笑）. After the rich man was away from his home, the servant enjoyed a nice meal. He drank too much, and fell to the ground. When the rich man came back,he couldn't find his food or his wine. He became very angry. He woke the servant up.But the servant told a story. He said a cat ate up everything. He was afraid to be punished,so he drank the poison to kill himself.

    Sam is a four year old boy. He lives in the USA with his father and mother. His father works in a hospital. He goes there by subway. He can read books on it. His mother is a worker in a factory. She often walks to work. They usually do some shopping on Sundays for the next week. But this Sunday they are going to the park to have a picnic because it is Sam's birthday.

    Look, Sam has many birthday gifts(礼物). One of them is a nice drum. He likes music. Of course Sam likes the drum very much. He makes a noise with it all day. His parents don't mind. They are happy. But one of the neighbours(邻居)doesn't like the noise. One day, she brings a knife and says to Sam, “Sam, do you know, there's a very nice gift in your drum. Here's a knife. Open the drum and let's find it. ”“OK!”Sam answers.

breakfast: some milk, some bread and an egg

lunch: an apple, some chicken and rice

dinner: a little fish, some vegetables and noodles

A: Welcome to our school! This is our classroom. It's on the second floor.

B: Do you have an art room?

A: Yes. It's on the second floor, too.

B: Where is your teachers' office?

A: It's next to our classroom.

B: Do you have a library?

A: Yes. It's on the first floor.

    There are four seasons in a year in China. March, April and May make the spring season. June, July and August make the summer season. September, October and November make the autumn season. December, January and February make the winter season.

    Near the North Pole(北极) there are only two seasons. They are winter and summer. The nights in winter are very long. For more than two months you can't see the sun, even at noon. In summer the days are long. For more than two months the sun never sets, and there is no night.

    In the tropics(赤道) there are also two seasons: a rainy season and a

Season.

    On summer holiday I am in the forest by myself (我自己), I go down to fish in the river. Soon get a big fish. Then I hear a great noise. There, right behind me, sits a big black bear! Wild animals are afraid of any quick move. So I move very slowly. The bear watches me. But he sits still. I take the fish and throw it to him. He eats it at once.

    Now what am I going to do? I'd better go on fishing, I think. The bear thinks so, too. Soon I gets another fish. I go over to him and put the fish into his big red mouth. I fish and fish—all for him. At first I am afraid to stop. Then I begin to like doing it. He is so friendly.

    When evening comes, the bear stands up and turns away (转身离开) from me. I can take some fish for my dinner.
