My name is Jim White. I 1 a schoolboy. My school is 2 my home. Every day, it takes me 3 to get there. The road is not 4. So I can't go to school 5. I often get there by bus or 6. It takes me thirty 7 to get there by bus and an hour on foot. I must get up very early every morning. I have no time 8 breakfast at home. I often have something for breakfast 9 or on the bus. I don't want to 10 school. So sometimes I run to school.

When I was born, my doctor told my mother that there was something wrong with my 2 . They were too soft to be able to walk. Although the news was bad, my mother didn't become 3. She didn't believe what the doctor said 4 started to look for other ways.

My mother kept looking for 5 doctors for me, and finally she succeeded. The doctor and his team in the hospital tried many times and did 6 they could to help me. They also asked my parents to teach me to do some 7 to help me walk. One day, when my mother came to pick me 8 , I crawled（爬） towards her. She was so surprised and happy that she couldn't believe 9 eyes. Crawling was not walking, but it was a good 10 . Day by day, I could walk by myself.

    Homeless(无家可归) is everywhere. Even in France, one of the1countries in the world, thousands of people live in the streets or parks.

    Mr. Muller and his wife Rita have spent eleven years making2for the homeless of Paris, France's capital. They first3one hot summer. When most Frenchmen were4on holiday. The Mullets stayed at home, made sandwiches. 5a table in the street and gave food to the homeless.

    The Mullers soon found that food and clothing weren't6. “What these people also need is warmth and7." says Rita. They gave their phone number to the street people and told them to phone8. They also told that their home was always9to anyone who needed help.

    The Mullers were soon10all their time and money, so Mr. Muller visited food and clothing companies to11more help. Today, over thirty companies give away food and other things to them. And more volunteers join them, too.

    Mr. Muller and his wife12no payment for their hard work. “We feel like13." says Rita. "And parents shouldn't expect money14helping their children. The love we get in the streets is the best present for us. We enjoy the feeling of making15in the world."

    When I was a junior high school student in 1980, God gave me a gift. It was happiness.

    One weekend, I went to visit my grandparents in the countryside. On my way home, a car ran over me and cut off my arms because of its high speed.

    Several days later when I woke up at the hospital, I realized I had to spend the rest of my life 1arms. How sad I felt at that time! Even I was full of fears, but slowly I knew I had to face the fact and got over it. 1 couldn't get my arms back even though I 2 every day.

    However, it's easier 3 than done. It took me nearly half a year to get out of the sadness 4. I got so much from my past story. From then on, I could treat my life with a usual mind. But in our daily life, I often see my classmates 5 about little things: They get a bad grade on a test; their bus comes 6 ; they don't have a mobile phone but 7 have, and so on. But I only 8 life. I was lucky to realize from an accident: It is a waste of our life to pay attention to what you have 9 . We should always think of what we have. So why are so many people unhappy? Someone may say, "My whole life would improve if I have a new car." But when you get the car and what  10? For a whole week you are walking on air. Then you go right back to being unhappy.

    Happiness depends on what we have! It's in our heart. Happiness comes from knowing the art of appreciating(感激) and taking pleasure in what you really have.
