As a rule, we have a test about some usual things in our life every two months. During my second month of nursing school, our teacher gave us a pop test as usual.

    I was a serious, hard-working and careful student, so I passed the questions easily until I read the last one, "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

    I thought this was sure some kind of joke. I saw the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark hair and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.

    Before the class ended, one student named Nancy asked our teacher if the last question would count toward our test grade. This was also all the students' question. We all wondered why he gave this question in the test, because we all felt it meaningless.

    "Certainly," said our teacher. "In your life you will meet many people. All of them are important. They should get your attention and care, even if all you do is smile or just say an easy 'hello' ." We all kept silent after hearing this.

    I've never forgotten that special lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.

    Most people always like to collect things. For example, they like collecting stamps, books, pictures.… But my friend Mr King likes collecting clocks. He has five hundred clocks now.

    There are clocks everywhere in his house. You can see shelves standing in every room. All the shelves are full of clocks. Though Mr King is glad to do this, his wife doesn't enjoy it at all. She has a lot of work to do every day. It's not easy for her to clean hundreds of clocks. She is also angry at the noise. Each clock keeps its own time, so she can hear clock strike(敲) almost any time during the day and the night. "There is something even worse. I am never able to know what time it is with so many clocks around."

We can enjoy a one-day weekend every week. Maybe one day is too short, but we can try to plan the time well. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

 Be patient and do not give up on a friend {#blank#}4{#/blank#} hearing loss. If you repeat what you are saying {#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( loud) and it isn't helping your deaf friend; try to write it down or use signals.

 Also, remember that deafness isn't the same as being stupid. Deaf kids are just as smart as anyone else. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they can't hear you, there is nothing wrong with their brain) If you treat your deaf friends like they are less smart, you {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( hurt) their feelings.
