Many kids like eating hamburgers. (A) But do you know that they are not healthy food? We can't eat them every day. David likes hamburgers very much and he eats them every day. He is not healthy.

    Vegetables, fruit and milk are healthy food for us. For example, broccoli is a good vegetable for us.

    (B) 早饭我们喝牛奶，吃鸡蛋和水果。Meat is nice to eat, but we can't eat too much. We can only eat it for lunch. For supper, vegetables are good for our health. Green vegetables are healthy food for every meal.

    Please eat well every day and we can be healthy.

    My name is Jerry Zhang, and I am a father of two young daughters -- one is about four years old and the other is only about one.我来自中国，现在住在美国。

    One day, my older daughter, Madison, told me she didn't want to be Chinese. Those days she was quite interested in the book characters (角色) Madeline and Eloise. She asked me all the time why she was Chinese and they weren't, and how she could have yellow or red hair like them.

    This made me look for books with Asian (亚洲的) characters for Madison to read. However, I only found a few, and they were heavily cultural (文化的) and Madison didn't connect herself with any of the characters in them. And she wash' t interested in them at all Then she told me again that she didn't want to be Chinese, and it made me sad.

    In most of the books for children in the US, the characters look like Americans. There are over 17 million Asians and Asians and Americans in this count, but few of them have Asian faces. I think it's important for Asian children to see themselves in books as interesting and clever kids.

    So I created (创作) a book for Madison. Pepper Zhang in the book is an Asian girl. Her imagination (想象) takes her on a trip to creativity and art I want my children to know that being Chinese or being Asian is a great thing too.

    We spoke to three students from around the world about different national holidays. There are different customs (习俗) for each festival.

    “It'll soon be Chinese New Year. Before it, we'll clean the house and decorate it for good luck. Every shop is going to close for a few days and we'll go out a lot to celebrate in the streets. We might go and see the lion and dragon dances in the city center. I love this festival.”

    “Australia Day is on 26th January and it's an important holiday here. We always have a Monday off, so we celebrate for three days. My parents and I go to the countryside for a picnic and friends always come over. Many people go to beach parties or street parties and there's lots of music and dancing. What fun！”

    “The first Thanksgiving Day was hundreds of years ago when Europeans who came to America thanked God for his help. It's still a very important day for families to be together. This year we're going to visit my grandparents and we'll eat a delicious meal of turkey. Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November every year.”

    We usually go to see a doctor when we are ill. Doctors may give us some medicine, and the medicine often makes us feel better.

    But sometimes the doctor's medicine doesn't work. This happened to one man, Thomas Smith. He was ill in hospital, but he wasn't getting well. Then he found a new "doctor" inside himself. He saw funny films. He read funny books. And something wonderful happened. Laughing took away his pain after half a year. He could have a good night's rest. His own happy feeling helped him get well again. He wrote his story in his book. He said laughing was very useful. It was the best "medicine".

    Another man, Simon Beck, was also ill, and he had a serious pain in his back. The doctor couldn't stop it, so the man began to "picture" his pain. In his head he "drew a picture of a dog. He imagined it to be a real dog. And it was hurting him. Then the man talked softly to the dog. He put his hand on the dog's head and made friends with it. One year later, his pain went away!

    These stories may surprise you, but more and more people are getting well in this way. So call on the "doctor" inside your mind, and keep happy and well!

    "Dreams may be more important than sleep. We all need dreams." some scientists say. Dreams take up about one quarter of our sleeping time. People have several dreams each night. Dreams are short films. They come to us over and over again. That may be because the dreamer is worrying about something. Dreaming may be a way of trying to find an answer. Sometimes we wake up with a good feeling from a dream. But often we can't remember the dream. Dream can disappear quickly from memory. Some people dream too much to sleep well.

    In America, some teenagers are interested in charity. They are willing to help others. Some teenagers even set up their own charity group. Shreya Papneja is one of them.

    Shreya Papneja is 13 years old. She started a charity group called Children's Health Awareness Program in Schools. Her charity group helps kids make healthy choices and tries to stop childhood obesity(肥胖).

    A doctor once told Papneja that more than one-third of children were overweight. She did a lot of research about it. Then she made a website to teach other children about exercise and healthy eating.

    She does a lot of things for her charity group when she is free. For example, she often organizes different activities at schools around her hometown.

    I know how hard it is to make a change, but I won't give up. At least I've changed a lot. Now I eat more healthy food instead of junk food," she said to a reporter.
