When I was a teenager growing up in France, I wanted to leave school and have my own life. The only way I could 1 this was to work in the local paper factory in my town, or get married. I was very nervous when I told my 2I wanted to leave school. I thought he would say, "3. You are going to college." I was very 4 when he said, "OK. Let's go to the paper factory."

    Two days later, 5 took me to the factory. I imagined everyone to be friends 6 together and having fun. I even imagined there would be music and singing. I 7 I had watched too many movies as a teenager.

    When we 8 the factory gates, my father spoke to the guard(门卫) and one minute later we were 9. I walked around the factory looking at the building, the workers, and listening to the noise.  It was 10. I ran back to my father and said, "I want to go home."

    He asked me, "What do you think of the 11?"

    "Too bad," I answered.

    "And marriage is even 12!" he said.

   I went back to school the next day thinking about studying hard13 I could get into a good college. I 14 studying English so I decided to major in（主修） languages at college. Thanks to my father and our 15to the paper factory, I now work at the United Nations and my father is very proud of me. I married a very good man and my life is much better than it would have been working in the factory!

    Some people believe that dreams can tell them what will happen in the future. 1 knows why this is so, but there are many stories about people who had dreams that came true. One of these people was a man 2John Chapman, who lived in Swaffham in England many years ago.

    John Chapman dreamt that he was standing on London Bridge and a man told him how to become rich. John Chapman was a poor man and he needed 3 the next day he decided to leave for London. It was 100 miles from Swaffham to London. He walked for a few days and at last he 4 London Bridge. There were many people on the bridge, but they weren't 5 in John Chapman. No one6him. After three days, John Chapman decided to go home,7 before he could do this, a shopkeeper came up to him.

    "I've been watching you," he said. "Are you 8 someone?"

    "Yes," said John. "I had a dream about a man here. He would help me to get much money. "

    "Oh," said the shopkeeper. "You shouldn't believe in dreams. 9believe in dreams, I'd be in Swaffham right now. I had a dream a few days ago about a man called John Chapman from Swaffham. He had 10 in his garden, near an old apple tree. "

    John Chapman was   11 what the shopkeeper said. At once he went home and dug near an old apple tree. He soon found many pieces of gold. He was so happy 12he gave some of the gold to his church. For the rest of his life, he was a rich man.

Henry Leech was a good salesman. He sold lots of products. After a new kind of vacuum cleaner (真空吸尘器) was produced by his factory, he was sent to the countryside to sell it.

He drove out of town and stopped at a farmhouse. He knocked on the door and the farmer's wife opened it. Henry started into his speech immediately.

"Madam, how much time do you spend cleaning the floors?" "A lot of time. This is a farm and things get dirty quickly," said the woman.

"And how much time do you spend beating the carpets(地毯)?" asked Henry.

"A lot of time. My dog lays on them and it always makes a mess on the carpets."

"Well," said Henry, "this is your lucky day." Henry showed her his vacuum cleaner and said, "You can clean the house in 5 minutes with it."

The farmer's wife didn't look interested, but Henry still took out a big bag of dirt(尘土). He opened it and threw it all over the floor. The farmer's wife was very surprised. Before she could speak, Henry said, "Madam, if this machine doesn't pick up every last piece of dirt, I will eat all of it!"

The farmer's wife looked at Henry and said, "WELL, I WILL GET YOU A SPOON. WE HAVE NO ELECTRICITY(电)."

I'm Lucy. I am a middle school student now. It seems that my life has changed a lot in the last few years. For example, I was afraid of the sea in the past because I didn't know how to swim.I now I am a good swimmer. I used to be short and was only 150 centimeters tall. But now, I'm ten centimeters taller than before.

As for food, I used to cat meat, but now I eat more vegetables. By the way, I love tomatoes best. When I was younger, I didn't use to read any books, but now I love reading novels, such as Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I love the magical world in the novels. When I was in primary school, I used to play football after school, but now I have to go home and do homework. I used to be afraid of exams, but now I think exams are necessary and useful.

In the past, I used to spend most of my time doing homework, but now I have more time to communicate with my parents. Every day when I finish dinner, I do my homework in the bedroom. Then I usually talk about something interesting with my parents.

 Today is January 26th. It is my 1 . I'm 13 years old now. I like sports, so my mother buys me a 2 . I like3 very much. My father 4 me a big birthday cake. It's on the table. It 5 very nice. There is a lot of other(其它的) food on the 6 too. There are hamburgers, salad, bread and 7 like(像) apples, bananas and oranges. Kate, Jenny, Tom and Peter are coming to my birthday party. They are my classmates, 8 they are my good friends. I'm very 9 they can come. I like to eat the food10 them. Do you want to come? You are also welcome.

It's Sunday. Tony wants to have a picnic. At 8:30 am, Tony goes to a forest park near a river with his sisters Jane and Alice by bike.

After an hour, they get there. Tony sees some students there. Some boys have a garbage bag（垃圾袋）in their hands. A boy, Bill, comes to Tony and asks him to clean the park with them. There is some garbage. Tony is a friendly boy and he says "yes" soon.

At 10:30 am, they finish cleaning the park. Then Tony has a nice picnic with his sisters. They have milk, potato salad and hamburgers. After the picnic, Jane and Alice draw pictures and take photos. They want to fly a kite, too, but they don't have one. Later on, Alice wants to swim in the river, but Tony stops her. He says it is dangerous（危险的）to do it. Ten minutes later, it rains hard. There is much water in the river.

At about 1:00 pm, the rain stops and Tony and his sisters go home happily.
