Once, a circle (圆）lost a piece of its own.

    The circle felt the world was dark. It wanted to be 1, so it went around here and there to look for its missing(缺失的) 2.But because it was not a circle any more, it couldn't roll(滚） 3. It had enough time to enjoy the flowers and the sunshine. It could even 4with the birds and the butterflies along the way. It found lots of 5pieces,but no one matched. 6 it left them all by the side of the road and kept looking for its right piece.

    Then one day the circle found a piece and the piece 7 it well. The circle put the piece into its body. Now it was a whole circle with nothing lost. It was so happy and began to roll. It could roll very fast, but it rolled 8 fast to see the flowers or say hello to the  birds and the butterflies. The world was quite different when it rolled so quickly! It felt very 9 and it stopped. It decided to leave the piece by the side of the road.

    Sometimes we needn't 10about what we lose. Maybe losing is a good thing.

    Michelle, a famous lady, has found that more than 25% students are too fat in her country. It is a very serious problem. So she starts a health program to deal with it. The health program is to reduce the amount(数量)of fat students today and in the future.

    The program will get families, schools, newspapers, magazines and TVs to join together and deal with the students' obesity so that students will be at a healthier weight. The program includes: food stores should sell healthier food: schools should serve healthier meals with less fat and should also offer gym classes.

    The lady is trying to fight the students' obesity all over the country because it can cause illnesses and higher health cost. She wants the students to eat right, exercise more and control their weight. She also wants the students to understand it is important to have less sweet food, and drink water, milk and fresh juices, but not to choose cokes. At the same time, she has also set a good example by planting a vegetable garden. She hopes that the garden will encourage more people to plant one, too.

    The health program is really helpful to the students today and in the future. As she says, we cannot always build the future for youth, but we can build our youth for the future.

    The world is in danger. At one time there were 1,300 different plants, trees and flowers in Holland, but now only 860 remain(剩余). The others have been destroyed(破坏) by man. We are changing the earth, the air, the water and everything that grows and lives. We can't live without these things. If we continue doing like this, we will destroy ourselves.

    What will happen in the future? Perhaps it is more important to ask "What must we do now?" The people who will be living in the world of tomorrow are the young of today. A lot of them know that conservation(对自然环境的保护) is necessary. Many are helping to save our world. They plant trees and protect animals in forest. In a small town in the United States, a large group of volunteers cleaned the banks of their rivers. Young people may hear about conservation through a record called No One's Going to Change Our World. It was made by the Beatles, Cliff Richard and other singers. The money from it will help to protect wild animals.

Jane: Hi, Bob. 1  club do you want to join? 

Bob: I want to join a sports club. 

Jane: Great! What sports can you 2 ?

Bob: Soccer. 

Jane: So you can join the soccer club. 

Bob: What about you? You're very good 3 telling stories. You can join the storytelling cub.

Jane: Sounds good. But I like to 4 , too. 

Bob: Then join two clubs, the story telling club and the art club! 

Jane: OK, let's 5 now!

Now there are more than 180 museums in Chengdu. Last year, the city's museums held over 2, 700 learning activities. They were very popular with students. More than 1, 380, 000 children took part in them. 

On May 18 this year, Chengdu Museum and SPGS International School Chengdu held an activity together to Celebrate International Museum Day. More than 20 students of the school, who come from different countries, took part in it. 

During the activity, the students visited the exhibition (展览会) on the city's history and culture. They also learned more about the exhibits through special lessons. They even made imitations (仿制品) of the exhibits there. Maia Santana Fong, a girl from Cuba, was one of them. She sat quietly before a small rhino sculpture (犀牛雕塑) and carefully colored it with bright paint. It was an imitation of a stone rhino nearly 2, 000 years ago. 

"I find the activity very interesting. The museum trip helped me get a better feel for the rich Chinese culture, " said Maia Santana Fong. 

In the past, students usually learned about the exhibits through pictures and videos in classrooms. But now they can see them with their own eyes at the museum. It helps students study China's history and culture better. 

Ran Jing, director of the museum's social education department, said, "The activity was just like a bridge between the school and the museum, between Chinese people and people from other countries, by telling China's stories through the exhibition. "

 As a new student in a school, you will give a talk and introduce yourself in a class. Do you know how to introduce yourself?

 Here are some ways to make sure you can let others know about you quickly:

●Start with a smile and be friendly. This will make your classmates more interested in what you say. 

●Tell others about your name, age, class, hometown, hobbies, and interests. Talking about your family is also a good idea. 

●Speak slowly and clearly, and makeeve contact with your classmates. 

●Let others know what you are good at. This may help you make new friends quickly. 

●Practice beforehand(预先). If you do so, you will feel better when you introduce yourself.
